    Pros

Great company values, privately held, many opportunities for professional development.

    Cons

Even though they offer many opportunities to develop professionally, it may be a challenge finding a new position. Many employees leave company to continue their professional growth. Work / Life balance can be difficult in the plants.

  2. Controlling management. No sense of accountability and urgency until the very last minute then the finger pointing game starts

    Pros

Benefits ain't so great but it is something.

    Cons

Closed minded, a lot of politics and personal emotion gets in the way of work.
Controlling management would be the biggest.
    Pay is not great either.

    Advice to Management

Sadly speaking, I don't think bad managers will be thrown out but we keep losing good people.

    Pros

They treat their employees great! There is a gym in the Big Rapids, MI location which members can visit anytime they're off yhe clock. So many great people to work with, long term work with benefits. Fairly simple work assembling office furniture.

    Cons

Standing on your feet for long hours. If there isn't a decent production number for the day, you could be done in 4 hours (which I guess could be a pro for some people). Not a definite possibility for extra hours.

    Advice to Management

Doing a great job but if you have dependable employees that like to collect hours, cross train!

    Pros

The only benefit of working there are the insurance benefits. The medical, vision and Flex Spending accounts are life savers.

    Cons

There are absolutely no opportunities for advancement unless you are romantically involved with your supervisor or the plant manager. Certain people are paid to sit and look up things on the Internet that have nothing to do with Haworth. Some people are also allowed to call their spouses 5-10 times a day for no reason and not answer their work phone when their assistance is needed in their department.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the good workers and give them some encouragement so it feels worthwhile to come into work everyday.

    Pros

Great people, Haworth cares about their members and is very flexible

    Cons

Many old non-integrated systems - checking multiple systems to ensure something is correct is very inefficient .

    Advice to Management

    Need to integrate SAP sooner

    Pros

Location in West Michigan, beautiful building, decent compensation and benefits, very good work life balance, many nice people.

    Cons

Too many people who have worked too long at Haworth (in many cases just Haworth) and they don't really know what world class is or looks like. Too many (including supervisors and above) seemingly just holding on for retirement not wanting to "rock" the boat but give lip service to trying to improve things.

    Advice to Management

Senior Executive leadership needs deep 360's on them - going down multiple levels with follow up interviews using an outside consulting group. You are insulated from the reality of the pain and frustration too many people are experiencing and often caused by you and your inability to hear bad news or create an environment that can accept the truth.

    Pros

They hire great talent so there's lots of wisdom to learn from. You can advance if you're willing to relocate and are very ambitious.

    Cons

There are some cliques. The average age if the workforce was 47 and being young meant you didn't know anything.

    Advice to Management

Hire more diversity including an range of ages.
