    I worked at Hayden Lake Country Club

    Pros

    Great atmosphere, free food every day. There was a good, professional feel to all activities thanks to the experienced management and desire to excel.

    Cons

    Having to deal with members who have an attitude can sometimes be a pain. As a country club employee, you are expected to look, act, and sounds a certain way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Continue to give small perks to the employees like food and parties, but work on allowing more room for advancement.

    I have been working at Hayden Lake Country Club part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    Most employees are very nice and welcoming and will allow employees to be themselves somewhat. The employees are served free meals if they work longer than four hour shifts. The chef, restaurant manager, and general manager is nice.

    Cons

    One restaurant supervisor treats attendants poorly while he treats his superiors and peers very well. Employees do not get enough down-time and tend to be over-worked--all just to save money for management. The restaurant additionally has an outdated sexist culture that is burdened with silly rules, such as in serving female members before males with no appreciation of the merits of the first-come, first-serve policy. The employers have a hard time understanding the merits of having your own unique hairstyle, regardless of gender, as opposed to conforming to conventional hairstyles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    If you want less employee turnover, treat your employees with respect as you would treat your peers and superiors. Also, give employees a break every four hours to let them have a meal to re-energize. Instead of relying on few employees and making them work with no breaks, hire more employees and allow the employees to take turns between working and breaks to allow employees to re-energize and be healthy. This will create a happier workforce and will return higher profits.
