    Very friendly, good career opportunities and lots of support

    No cons really. Longer than normal hours but I enjoy being busy.

    Advice to Management

    None. Very good management structure. Keep doing it :)

    Pros

    Excellent opportunities to progress your career, 'build a business', earn lots of money AND attend lots of fun incentives. You can double you're salary in a year plus and keep going, you're in control of what you earn. Its also really good to work for a leading recruitment company recognised within the market and you're seen as a specialist in what you recruit for.

    Cons

    very long hours and the role can be stressful and quite up and down. One day it feels like the best day of your life and the next is pretty bad. The main thing is if you're ambitious, confident and a people person who is motivated by money and success they're a fantastic company to work for.

    Advice to Management

    Perhaps make the basic for the associate programme and the consultants a bit higher.

    Pros

    Great training ground. Offers excellent development opportunities -especially opportunity to work internationally.
    A really credible business that drives you to be an experts.
    Knowledge tools such as journal and indicator are great.

    Cons

    For every inspirational leader there is an opposite and can often be a case of if the face fits in some departments rather than capability and potential.
    Salaries not strongest in market place

    Advice to Management

    Be consistent in approach and delivery.
    Remember to look out wards and not just inwards.
    Salaries / promotions need to be aligned better
    In general a great company to work for

    big company
    opportunity to move to other countries

    hard work
    the values they promote are not reflected with their staff

    Advice to Management

    consider both your front office and back office staff. Consultants may make the money but without back office staff to support them they would find it difficult to do their day to day work!

    Pros

    Great training scheme. Perfect for new recruiters.
    Advice:If looking in London, Cheapside (Private Sector) is a much better location to work from than Ebury (Public Sector).

    Cons

    Senior management can be petty. Treat staff who choose to leave very poorly, banning them from incentives etc. One of the reasons why I wanted to leave.

    Pay is lower than competing agencies. Base salary for associate consultant is £5000 less than Michael Page and Reed.

    Advice to Management

    You get what you give. If you treat staff poorly, and as disposable then don't expect a high level of loyalty in return, and especially don't be shocked by your high staff turnover rates.

    Pros

    Nice office location.... but that's all

    Cons

    A depressing atmosphere where they try and bully people into doing long hours and not taking a lunch break. If you develop an account well enough it will be taken off you and given to a specific handler!!! Cop on!!! Said manager was a product from long term exposure to this environment and felt very sorry for that person. They are just a large machine that throws enough stuff at the wall and hopes for the best. Having an insane turn over. Do not be fooled by there values and statistics that they bombard you with. In short.... controlling, brainwashing, cheap and long hours with no lunch. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

    Get out now.

    Pros

    Good training (for the sector, could be better).
    Good benefits
    Regional coverage
    International opportunities
    Some innovative products such as the digital section.

    Cons

    Suffers from the same issues as most recruitment companies: can be extremely KPI-focused and short-termist at times.
    Work-life balance poor (par for the sector however).
    High turnover, skill-base / commitment to most markets relatively low.

    Advice to Management

    Stop promoting good consultants into management posts just because of high billings / long service: the attributes needed for a good leader / manager and a good consultant are frankly not the same, and in many cases opposed. Move the focus of your business further towards niche sectors and away from 'high street'.

    Pros

    Dynamic environment a meritocracy. Expect to be challenged, high expectation and reward for high results and hard work, you have to be committed.

    Cons

    Promotion criteria built around results, not much lateral thinking. Can feel like you are being managed by numbers but everyone has to learn.

    Pros

    I have had the opportunity to gain alot of exposure to various facets of the business. Managment and my team are extremley supportive and involve me in various projects. Fantastic culture promoting best practice.

    Cons

    Is a demanding and challenging job which requires long hours at times, however the rewards that follow and knowledge gained makes it worth it.

    Pros

    The company provides great training and there is a chance to progress quickly and be rewarded for your performance.

    Cons

    The culture of the company is very dog-eat-dog, and the pay is below industry standards, alongside very long working hours. A lot of your success is dependent on the desk you are put on, other than your own personal talent.

    Advice to Management

    Reward employees more! Don't hire good consultants to management positions. A good recruiter does not make a good manager.
