We have world class training, recruitment methodology and systems which combined with a positive attitude and ambitious personality result in an extremely rewarding and challenging career.

    Cons

Success in recruitment is driven by hard work and strong levels of activity, the culture in Hays is to highlight and support those who work the hardest and drive quality activity to achieve their outputs so they will be successful. There is no hiding place if you don't want to perform and make a difference.

Hays has never been in a better place for someone looking to start a rewarding career in recruitment. The management need to continue with what they are doing.

The career plans are clear and there are always opportunities to progress and move abroad with the company if you choose to do so.

Hays have a work hard play hard attitude, which rewards hard work, but means you have to fully commit to long hours to reap the benefits.

    Pros

The blend of consultant expertise and an innovative approach to technology puts Hays in the very best position to be the number 1 at what we do. The management structure in place offers good support and the investment in the training of new associate recruits has really started to future proof the success for the years to come.

    Cons

I am struggling with negatives - despite being a large company, the regional structure means that the support network is strong while being able to access centrally managed; marketing, digital solutions, PR, HR and other mechanisms to support the business.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening and communicating at all levels

    Pros

If you decide recruitment is the career for you, then Hays is a good place to start. The training is great and there are always social events to get involved with. You should not expect to earn as much money here as you would in other recruitment firms, but use it for what it is: Get your training here and make some connections, then move to a boutique firm and get a hefty package or move abroad with the firm.

    Cons

Won't challenge you mentally, but will certainly test your stress management. Incredibly KPI-driven and a big hire and fire culture - but that's what you should expect from working for a large recruitment firm.

    Advice to Management

In order to retain key talent, consider challenging them beyond KPIs.

Financial rewards - if you work hard and commit to your desk, the earning potential is fantastic.

    Cons

Long hours - especially in your first year here, you really need to put in the groundwork in order to be successful which can also mean working quite long hours.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!!

    Pros

Hays have invested a significant amount of money and time in developing recruitment systems, training plans and staff development schemes. Excellent Training plans for associates through to Senior Management/Director Level Excellent staff benefit plans

    Cons

Financial results tend to focus on more of the larger regions and certain geographical locations, but the smaller regions are equally important across the UK.

    Advice to Management

Promotion targets could be reviewed and based on what section you recruit for and the geographical area and not just a set standard Part-time employees would benefit from a salary review
