I have been working at Health Management Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible atmosphere and a lot of freedom withing the position. Friendly office where personal needs are taken into account. Very safe job.

    Cons

Almost no room for growth and very low compensation. You will do almost the exact same thing every day and the work load is growing because more people are leaving with no one being hired.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a large stand taken against senior management at corporate to change the office model. Hiring millennial employees who tend to leave after a year doesn't work with the long training time. Retention needs to be a focus.

    Pros

Co workers are just as miserable as the rest.

    Cons

HR is the worst. The company is non compliant.

    Advice to Management

HR is the first to go. Managers need training. No employee empathy.

I worked at Health Management Systems full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - flexible policies with working from home - very good benefits - comfortable offices with decent amenities The ability to work from home was nice. It was in a fairly easy to reach location. Smoking was allowed, albeit disliked. Benefits were good and the 401k excellent.

    Cons

    - Leadership is incompetent on all levels - battling business unit syndrome - focus on quantity over quality - uncompetitive pay I worked at this company for five years. During my time there, I watched it go from a wonderful organization to a miserable cesspit. People were very poorly paid, often overworked, and rarely promoted. I, personally, was promoted, twice, so this isn't just sour grapes -- a saw a lot of good talent walk out the door due to low salaries and a lack of concern about ramifications. There were a lot of shady products pitched to clients and you were expected to deliver, regardless of the utility.

    Advice to Management

Oh, god, where to start? First, stop thinking you can simply pull in insurance industry people and have them magically produce wine from water. Most of the people pulled in wasted valuable time and money on projects that went no where. Second, the whole New York Clique thing has to go.

    Pros

Great team environment and friendly culture

    Cons

Not much incentives and recognition for people that goes the extra mile

    Advice to Management

More tools to help the frontline workers to be able to execute their daily tasks More recognition for hard workers and less Management needs to learn the projects and not just dictate without having full knowledge

I worked at Health Management Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Salary and benefits were decent, some of the coworkers, not many pros for my job.

    Cons

Long work hours, overt favoritism, lack of appreciation, low staff morale, frequent turnovers, lack of adequate training, cut throat environment.

    Advice to Management

Need to pay more attention to employee turnovers and the reasons why.
