    Pros

Strong performers can really excel at Health Net. Pay is average, Benefits very good, Severance is better than industry. They are positioned for strong growth right now so a great time to join them.

    Cons

Slow decision making at times, duplication of effort is frustrating as there are competing interests between units. Technology solutions are old.

    Advice to Management

Push more decisions further down in the company. Empower middle management and then hold them accountable for results. Value smaller units contribution.

    Pros

Moot point as the company division I worked for (Health Net of the Northeast) was sold to UnitedHealthcare. Health Net was a great company to work for - they do have offices still in CA, AZ and OR - I would recommend it as a good place to work. They place a premium on associate satisfaction.

    Cons

Company was sold so I no longer have a job there which is a downside. The company handled the employee layoffs very professionally.

  3. Retains the Best

    Pros

    - People are very nice and professional - Health Net prides themselves in retaining the best employees - Pay is within standard market value - Good work life balance

    Cons

    - Medical Benefits are expensive to cover dependents and spouses - Request for anything are very slow - Senior Managers work long hours, sleep 4-5 hours and sometimes expects their lower level associates to do the same - Old technology that needs updating

    Advice to Management

    - Lower the Medical Benefit premiums so it's affordable to cover the families. - Improve technology and software for associates - Promote more women in Information Technology

    Pros

People are very genuine in most areas. Compensation is competitive. Management is generally fair.
