I have been working at Health Net full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The team that I work with has been great. My dept interacts very well with each other. I think this company is great for someone starting out in their career.

    Cons

The pay could obviously be a bit better.
Some other departments I heard don't get much recognition for their hard work from their management.

I worked at Health Net full-time

    Pros

    - fair salaries
    - low overtime
    - one day each year, an In and Out truck comes in and a band is hired to entertain associates.

    Cons

    - Too many irons in the fire, inadequate resources applied to ensure success.
    - Extremely slow to respond to pain points across the enterprise.
    - Focus is on deadlines rather than planning and executing effective strategies.
    - ***** Complete lack of accountability.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on stability and low-risk initiatives, then PLAN for them. Understand that deliverable deadlines based solely on need rarely produce quality, coherency or brand awareness.

    Pros

Most of the people are nice and really do care about doing a good job. The work life balance is great, as they let folks telecommute.

    Cons

Advancement opportunities are pretty thin, especially with the economy these days. Often, raises are only had with promotions, and most people have to jump between departments to do so.
