I have been working at Health Net full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

It's easy to get promoted here as long as you're smart and know what you're doing. It's also easy to take time off during the "slow" months and PTO hours accrue very quickly. The benefits are also great.

    Cons

There is an everchanging work environment, most likely due to ACA. It can be hard to keep up with all the changes if you're not good at adapting to it. Certain functions of Health Net will be "rebadged" under Cognizant.

good benefits, flexible schedule, good co-workers, room for growth prior to the outsourcing.

    Cons

Future remains unclear, uncertain whether some associates will be laid off or rebadged, overall outsourcing no job security.

I have been working at Health Net full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

People are nice. Salaries competitive. Education reimbursement. Option to work from home a couple days a week.

    Cons

Right now there is a lot of uncertainty as many departments are being in process of being sold to Cognizant. Layoffs expected in the coming months for some, others will be offered to rebadge and work for Cognizant.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too much process to follow. Job becomes more about following overabundance of process rather than getting job done.

    Unprofessional Supervisors

Current Employee - Capitation Department Employee in Woodland Hills, CA

I have been working at Health Net full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible work hours
    Gain experience
Better than no job at all

    Cons

    Unprofessional supervisors
    Departmental favortisim
    Un-qualified trainers
    Dishonest supervisors

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Before advancing employees to supervisory positions, instruct them on leadership ettiquite. Department Managers, supervisors, etc, should NOT gossip about lower level employees...to other lower level employees. Instead of evaulating employees on hearsay and gossip..evaulate them on what YOU actually witness!!! Stop playing OBVIOUS favorites, at least pretend to be subtle with favortisim.

    Cons

Lack of communication between departments, felt siloed. Focus needs to be placed on improving the lines of communication between management and staff.

I have been working at Health Net full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Pleasant work environment where no one is brow beaten or beat down. People are allowed to be comfortable and happy at work. I think this is where Health Net shines strong. Great Benefits. Nice pay. Promotional Opportunities for the stand outs..

    Cons

Huge outsourcing endeavors are underway, I may be out of a job this time next year. Not a very good organizational structure, meaning the departments are silo styled, but also my department is reorganized every 2 years or even more often and it just goes in circles until everything is back where it started. Top level management does not seem to have an understanding of the actual work that goes on in it's departments or it's value. This is a company that used to be awesome to work for but has slowly deteriorated over time and appears to be about to deteriorate at a much sharper level in the future. The new system they are implementing completely sucks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get a new job, you are about to be laid off.

    Pros

Overall great company to work for.

    Cons

Unfortunately there is not consistency as far as advancement opportunities within the organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All employees should be given equal advancement opportunity, especially if they seek to advance within the organization.
