    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of the supervisor in indianapolis, and her team lead who gossips all over the company and you might have settled unhappy employees in the indianapolis indiana office

I have been working at HealthSCOPE Benefits

    Pros

They are really good about being flexible if you need time off. The people are generally very friendly and are good people. There's not really any micromanaging. The management team has all been with the company for 15-20+ years. They have a robust system of celebrating holidays in the office.

    Cons

Being a small company, they are really cheap in most everything they do. Their pay, for the most part, is generally at the low end of the industry average. Also, related to pay: you're likely to find two people with similar experience that make vastly different amounts of money. Its not consistent. They do not much of a training department/program so you will be left to learn a lot "on the job". They do not seem to have a method in place to reward the best and brightest in a way that is meaningful (financially or otherwise). If you are competent and are a hard worker, they will put more and more on your plate - without any more money or recognition. Generally speaking, its an unorganized place. They don't have a good system in place to pass information or guidance to employees. Very little in the way of staff/team meetings occurs. Unless it is related to planning a holiday celebration, unfortunately.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need a dedicated training department that can handle both new hire and ongoing training initiatives. You also should examine employee reviews with respect to rewarding and recognizing your best people (and also retraining and counseling your bottom ten percent). Your compensation package is at the lower end of the range for the industry. If you want to attract and retain the best talent, you need to be willing to pay for it. You have good people working for but many are "stagnant" in their positions because there's no reward for innovation and cost saving/effectiveness measures - just more work. You have lots of opportunities that are sitting on the shelf and just waiting to be put into place - with the right people. You need to start bring some outside people in to take a look things because too many people have been there for way too long.
