    Pros

Ample opportunity to grow, learn and explore different issue areas. Work is interesting, varied and challenging. People are generally helpful and friendly.

    Cons

Exempt staff work grueling hours and compensation tends to favor non-exempt employees who are eligible for overtime pay. No work-life balance for middle managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Flex time and work-at-home arrangements would help ease burden of work load.

    Pros

HANYS is a company with a good reputation. Benefits are good with a modern work environment. There are many opportunities to take in-house classes and college courses.

    Cons

The support staff is undervalued and it is difficult to rise to the next level. The office manager (C.O.) in the for-profit division is an office bully. Unfortunately, a blind eye is turned away at the problem as one executive assistant after another leaves due to unfair treatment and reviews.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bullying should not be tolerated and hidden from senior management, including the CEO and his staff.

    Pros

Comfortable and challenging work environment, great benefits, decent pay. Generally good leadership. Clear direction on member focus.

    Cons

Most times it is unclear what is expected of you due to the "report up" structure. Great difficulty in receiving timely reviews, which wage increases are contingent upon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

With recent changes in CEO, and executive staff, there are some concerns. Waiting to see how things shake out!
