I have been working at Healthcare Services Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

-As long as you understand your facility's needs and have a competent staff, the hours are yours to pick and choose
-Learn a ton of valuable skills that can translate elsewhere (i.e. budgeting, supply orders, scheduling, staff communication etc...)
-Learn a fair amount about the Healthcare industry from multiple aspects including: dietary, social services, activities, administration, rehab and medical
-401K, Stock options, company health insurance, 90-Day raise

--Overall a decent job that pays ok and offers a ton of room to build your resume. I would recommend staying in long enough to gain solid work experience and then leaving for a better paying job.

    Cons

-Work-Life balance can suck, once again depending on your staff and the facility's needs
-Occasional night projects can be a pain but you really only stay until 2-3 in the morning and the finished results are very rewarding
-Pay is a good amount below average, but ok for entry level
-Company gets skimpy with supplies towards the end of quarters or the year
-Training is kind of rushed and incomplete leaving new account managers to fend for themselves on some things
-Corporate HR can be a real pain to communicate with, MAKE SURE YOUR PAPERWORK IS PERFECT!
-Some Facility Administrators can be a real pain, just do what they ask and try your best to get on their good side. It will make life easier

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Incentivize lower-level management with incremental pay increases based on progress or results
-Better prepare start-up buildings and ACTUALLY train staff, and have schedules made for new managers coming in
-Pay the Hourly staff more, I guarantee they will work harder for more than minimum wage. At the very LEAST, offer them room to grow based upon meeting specified goals
-Provide more hours to budget staff with. Even if they are not all used, the cushion can help to prevent scheduling problems

I worked at Healthcare Services Group part-time

    Pros

The pros of the job had nothing to do with HCSG, they had to do with the facility I worked in which was actually great.

    Cons

Erratic schedule! Constantly revised and I'd constantly be called in due to coworkers calling in frequently. No one is hired to work full time either. In other words, work/life balance was awful.
They have a poor system for removing bad employees. Took them forever to get around to it.
The wage was low. Not liveable at all and no raises offered, not even annual ones.
Housekeeping inspections were incredibly unrealistic. I worked in an older facility, and you'd get marked down for things that in reality were clean, it just looked bad because it needed replacing which we had no control over, the facility is responsible for that.
The insurance they offered was a national company, they do not offer state/area specific insurances. Not one office in my area accepts the health insurance, so I didn't get it. No retirement is offered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees like they matter. Do annual evaluations and have raises based on performance. Offer benefits which will actually be accepted where we live and work. Stabilize the scheduling, because your employees are humans just like you, and deserve work/life balance. Have realistic expectations and fully remember what we can and cannot do based off the contract you made with the facility.

    Pros

Good Salary, Scheduling Freedom, Working with our residents, Building professional relationships, sense of accomplishment and achievement. Incentivized goals. comrodery, never boring, not working as a widget counter or desk jockey.

    Cons

Front line staffing challenges in some areas, some difficult clients, need to implement more technology, process to remove "bad seed" employees

    Pros

kinda flexible hours. people really care about the quality of their work.

    Cons

little pay. alot of childish gossip and drama within workers making people unmotivated. management doesnt really care about the individual worker. no bonuses or pay increases or promotions for longevity employment (eg if youve been there more than 4 even 6 years). they take advantage of their housekeepers and its hard to get 40 hours exactly.

Good company to work for but promotions aren't given on merit but rather who you know or how long you worked for them.

I have been working at Healthcare Services Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent salary, If you know what you're doing and can handle your own building than your hours worked are more practical.

    Cons

Benefits, communication from account manager to district manager to regional managers only get through if its deemed important to them. NO ANNUAL REVIEWS! NO ANNUAL INCREASES! Pretty much have to beg for review and ask for own raise! District/Regional managers are only out for themselves

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look in the mirror. You were all in the account managers shoes at some point. You're supposed to help improve and advance those who are below you not just keep them in place because they make your job easier!

    Cons

Poor communication. Poor business sense, poor planning and unrealistic goals and work expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need better onboarding program. Supervisor/boss never saw face to face over the table.
Needs more realistic travel arrangements work life balance
Mngtment Needs better working knowledge of accounts, transportation cost and timing or give more time for new employee to figure it out.
In healthcare its not an army of one, felt left in lerch and abandoned by management.

I have been working at Healthcare Services Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Only pro is the ability to network with other professionals if you wish to pursue a career in a health care industry. You can form relationships because of the environment you operate in. The downside is HCSG makes you sign a contract stating you can never work with any other companies so you have to be sneaky when you look for other employment.

    Cons

Horrible working hours. Even though you are told nights and weekends are not mandatory they expect you to work them without overtime pay ever being offered. Budgets are cut all the time and then you are expected to produce the same quality of work and the only way to do that is to do all the work yourself. There are NO pay increases and chances of promotion are slim to none at best. Although, they will lie to your face on a daily basis and tell you that "Something BIG is on the horizon so just keep working 100 hours a week because your definitely the next District Manager'...All lies so they can keep paying you crap money and never promoting you. No support from upper management. They do no work and constantly think of ways to cut budgets so they can make bonus every month, all the while still lying to your face. They literally make you lie to the customers about the hours you run so the customer has no idea they are being screwed over and if the customer gets wise to it they deny ever telling you to do so. its a nightmare to work for these pigs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why give you advice, you wont listen, keep lying and being pieces of crap to your employees and lying to the customers. Hopefully you will all burn in hell.
