I have been working at Heartland Dental full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Insurance benefits, vacation, home office assistance, networking with other offices

    Cons

Low pay with high unrealistic expectations. If you're not drinking the kool-aid, you're not a "fit" for the company. Their vision is to be a world class company and leader in dentistry, but they need world class people to be working there! They are the leader in dentistry because all they care about is money. Patients are dollar signs to them! And don't feel too special in your office because just like in any other corporate job, you are replaceable!

    Advice to Management

Listen to your team. Recognize when there are unrealistic expectations. Quit promoting people who have no place being promoted.

I have been working at Heartland Dental full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They provide a friendly work environment, extensive training and ability to grow within the company. Someone is always just a phone call away if you need assistance in a timely manner.

    Cons

There is plenty of favoritism within Heartland Dental. Decent percent of the time, it's more about who you know and not what you know. This is frustrating for people with introverted personalities.

    Advice to Management

Hire qualified individuals that have the ability to work well with others without criticizing every aspect of what they are doing. Stop promoting and rewarding people that have a poor work ethic and attitude; it's damaging your company!

I have been working at Heartland Dental full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Room for growth opportunities, educational opportunities, free dental (if your doctor will take care of you), community outreaches (Free Dental Day).

    Cons

Terrible Management System. Hires new employees for more then what they are paying current employees who have been with the company for a VERY long time (over 6 years). TERRIBLE compensation system (Up to 2% for a raise? Not realistic cost of living standards) while the upper management reaps the benefits of having "lower salaries". "Dr Run Practice" HAHA Dr's don't be fooled. Management still controls everything behind closed doors they just like you to believe your making decisions for "your practice". --DRS LOOKING INTO THIS COMPANY DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND LOOK ELSEWHERE! NUMEROUS DR'S WHO AFFILIATE HAVE ALL COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME THING...THEY PROMISE AND PROMISE AND PROMISE WITH NO DELIVERY!"

    Advice to Management

TAKE CARE OF THE EMPLOYEES THAT ARE TAKING CARE OF YOU!

I have been working at Heartland Dental full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great training and leadership courses for not only professional but personal development as well. I enjoy the consistency as it relates to our Mission, Vision and Core values - this has remained the same since I started in 2002.

    Cons

With such a growing company we are behind from getting our Infrastructure trained and hired which creates some hurdles.

    Pros

They offer tons of training in any area needed.

    Cons

If your company is bought out by Heartland you can expect a change in your position and your pay!

    Advice to Management

When buying out other companies remember they might have had good team members in place for a reason!

    Pros

Invest in their people by providing CE for all positions from DA to Doctors. Promote from within. Great benefits. Salaries are competitive for each market. Doctor led company leads to a family like feel to the practices, with the support and stability of Heartland Dental backing them with quality systems and knowledge.

    Cons

The growth of the company is determined by the ability to grow their infrastructure.
