    Pros

    Willing to hire new grads

    Cons

-raises are literally pennies, only given annually, based on reviews from all coworkers. Considerably lower than private practice, insulting really. -prophy mill mindset: you get only 40 min for adult recare and are expected to take X-rays every 6 mos, full mouth perio chart, oral cancer screening, fluoride, pt education, Drs exam, prepare and print a treatment plan, have a BA go over it...and oh yea, the actual cleaning. And don't you dare run over time. -practices are ran by administrators with no clinical experience or dental education, so they push procedures without understanding that not every pt needs SRP or a crown, then punish you for not meeting goals -BAs don't even know tooth numbers, so good luck asking them to help chart, clean rooms, or pack instruments. -sole motivating factor is production: no one actually cares about the patients. Unnecessary procedures are pushed in order to increase daily production to meet goals. When patients do accept treatment, it's mediocre at best. -protect Drs who literally should lose their licenses due to gross negligence, battery, and malpractice. I once witnessed a doctor drilling on a 12-year-old's healthy right side second molar because he mistook it for the left side first molar...and not only withheld that fact from the parents, but also charge them for the filling! - if you happen to be ethical and clinically sound, they will do whatever they can to run you out. I've seen it happen to so many DAs and RDHs -they deny your rights (and ignore federal law) set by the national labor relations board and punish you for discussing wages with employees -if your office isn't scheduled to meet production goals, you have to stay 2 hours after work at make calls to fill the schedule, while patients are at home eating dinner and spending time with their families-they really hate getting calls from a desperate dental office tracking you down to get your money My advice is to run, very far and very fast if you are offered a job with heartland. You will be overworked and grossly underpaid. You will see terrible things being done to patients and coworkers and not be able to do anything about it. You will tell yourself that it's not that bad and maybe it's just you overreacting. But eventually it will wear you down and even the risk of having no job sounds better than working for this devil of a corporation any longer. If you do have to take a job with them, make sure you keep your resume up to date and never actually put heartland dental as your employer. Instead, put the practice name, otherwise you will get black balled by private and group practices who know all about heartland's shady business ethics.

    Pros

you learn a lot about dental and the business. They're only getting a 1 rating cause I have to give them one.

    Cons

the DMT program is a scam. Your title says dental MANAGEMENT trainee, but you're expected to known ALL clinical things. You work 45 hours a week on a salary, so that way you don't get over time. They expect you to just jump into people's treatment and mouths without you having any training what so ever. Don't expect to be taught anything or trained at all, you do all of that on your own. They're quick to point out your flaws and tell you what you're doing wrong but don't find a way to help you fix it. If you want to be in a management position don't even try cause chances of you getting a management position are less than 15%.

    Advice to Management

actually TRAIN your management. Treat them like they're management.

    Pros

Great office, great staff! They care about his patients and the entire staff works well together,

    Cons

The staff that is full time enjoys their jobs so much and there is very little turnover at this office so that can make it difficult to get full time hours if that is what you are seeking.

    Advice to Management

The office manager is great at managing the schedule and the entire team. She makes the office run smoothly!

    Pros

This company will teach you a lot about health care, business, and dealing with people.

    Cons

If you aren't one of the favorite people, you will not advance in this company. Education was not valued. I told management time and time again that I'd love to grow and learn other things but they kept hiring from outside and promoting those people.

    Advice to Management

Work with the potential you have with you right now.
