    Pros

Access to the top, brand name gets you in -

    Cons

Horrible culture of bullies with big ego's -a snake pit, sharks and phony personalities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the comp system if you want the "teamwork, collaborative culture " that you say you want. Despite fancy titles, there are no real leaders- smart people eventually leave.

    Pros

    Cons

learning is partner dependent, if you get a good partner, you will get better learning, thus development opportunities are not equal across the org

    Pros

    Good yearly Bonus, Nothing Else!

    Cons

Internal Politics, Communications Gap between Management and Employees, Superiority Complex, HR is the exact opposite of what an ideal HR should be. Cab facility is getting worse from poor. For distance of 30 mins you are supposed to travel for 2 hours?? Thats you call managing the logistics??

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop relying only on the Managers for each and every suggestion or ideas, give growth opportunities to the one who deserve not the one who licks better.

I worked at Heidrick & Struggles full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

it used to have a brand name

    Cons

partners are driven by their own personal wealth - not driven by the companies success. They are managing in a corrupt way and work together only to keep talent out of the business (not to attract it), their view seems to be if there is talent in the business - that will erode their own personal wealth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    stop hating women and talent.

    I worked at Heidrick & Struggles full-time

    Pros

    Excellent culture.
    Hardly people are seen stretching.
    Learnings and opportunities are immense.
    Good IT setup.

    Cons

    Salary below industry standards.
Work gets monotonous if you are aligned to some practices.
Too much process driven that too with mundane processes.
Most of the best seniors in the top management have left the organisation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People in the management should be promoted from within rather than hired from outside.

I worked at Heidrick & Struggles full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - From the candidate perspective, they still take Heidrick as a serious executive search firm
    - It looks good on your CV, if you want to get into inhouse recruiting, you want to have the big 5 experience shown on your CV

    Cons

    - No matter how good your execution is, if your boss is not a big biller, you would get your promotion much slower than the Average Joe who can bill
    - Great people, from associates to partner level, has left to join its competitors / inhouse / start their own firm
    - Most of the HS people who are still with the firm, either they are political or/and incompetent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Stop making your round the world internal PR trip.
    (i) Stay at where you are, do your job, be productive
(ii) Save your Business Class + Five Star hotel budget as performance bonus for the Associates
    - I heard that it is even harder to get promoted from Associate to Consultant, so why shall a good associate stay?
    - Stop promoting star performers as managers

    Pros

Amazing relationships at the most senior levels of Fortune 100 companies and senior government officials.
Lots of room to grow and opportunities to excel.
Competitive and dynamic environment coupled with a great culture of teamwork and collaboration.

    Cons

    Not for average performers.
Pay is not competitive for non-partners.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to innovate and allow for more work-from-home opportunities rather than waste time commuting.
Incentivise admin staff so that they perform better and not bog consultants down with paperwork that the admin staff should be doing.
Have a smaller office and save on rent!
