I have been working at Heinz full-time

    Pros

These reviews on here make Heinz look like a terrible company to work for, which frankly is just not the case, in my opinion. Maybe it's a different experience depending on what department you're in? I work in supply chain and many people are nice, willing to help, and work together to find new ways to improve the business. My managers care about me, my coworkers are normal people who work normal hours; the office (around me at least) is nearly empty before 8am and after 5pm so no, not everyone is working like it's a "sweatshop" as others have said on here. Yes, there is a good deal of responsibility given to individuals, so if you're lazy this probably isn't the place for you but if you're looking to expand your career, this is the place to do it!

    Cons

HR communication; there's about a million links to access between all types of benefits, SOPs, etc. and it can get very confusing, especially if you're a new employee who is trying to get everything set up.

    Advice to Management

Keep rewarding on meritocracy and I think you will find continued success.

I have been working at Heinz full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really talented procurement department with some great managers who work to provide a fun atmosphere. Lots of room to grow your skills per the 3G model. Heinz is really into financial reporting, so if you like finance, or want to grow in that area, that is a plus. Good maternity leave benefits (6 weeks fully paid.) Heinz Academy offers lots of classes in various areas. Really cross functional role with lots of interaction with other departments. Procurement has lots of executive exposure.

    Cons

Work-life balance is not encouraged here. If you want it, you have to make it yourself by being really good at managing your time. There is also very little to no training for new hires. They just throw you into the fire. There can be unrealistic expectations for cost savings goals. Lots of "close of business" deadlines to constantly manage. Some managers are better than others at advocating against unrealistic asks on the Buyers. There is also a pretty small department without a ton of room to growth or be promoted beyond a buyer position. There were middle manager roles but those were done away with during the acquisition. Finally health care benefits here are CRAP. If you have a family of four it is like a $7k deductible for the year. It is practically like have no insurance because you have to pay everything out of pocket.

I have been working at Heinz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very competitive Great direct management I do believe in the companies values, but I don't think it is always translated into our work the way it should/could be.

    Cons

Communication Upper management could lead better (think before they jump in to decisions that everyone pays for later) People retention

    Advice to Management

Treat the people you currently have working for you as people and not just an expenditure. More people would likely stay with the company if they felt valued and not scared there could be another cut to the workforce just around the corner. Hire more people. A lot of problems could be resolved if someone was dedicated to focusing on some of these issues rather than juggling numerous issues and day to day business at the same time. Ever once in awhile, people can deal with it, but when it is a constant drain to your resources, it effects job performance.

I have been working at Heinz full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Heinz is one of the world's most recognizable brands because of its history, quality and passion for being the best. Now is a new chapter for the Company, with the opportunity for employees at all levels to shape the future of the business. If this doesn't excite you, at the very least the Company's competitive salaries and bonus potential should. It is empowering and exciting to work for an industry leader who never rests and continues to push itself to reach new heights.

    Cons

You will not be babied or overindulged from a management standpoint. You have to prove your drive and accomplishments every day and new management has created a competitive culture. People who are looking for a 9-5 lifestyle will not like it here.

    Advice to Management

Honor the great history and beloved brands. Stay ahead of industry trends because consumers expect innovations from Heinz. Reward your people because they are working tirelessly to help you achieve the new Vision for the Company.
