I have been working at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you're motivated and work hard, it won't go unrecognized. I've been promoted several times and have seen the same of co-workers who gave it their all as well. Great place to start a career whether it's at corporate or one of the branches.

While the pay seems pretty standard, the unbelivable benefits package makes up for it. Also, 3 weeks PTO to start...can't beat that in this industry.

    Cons

Training could use some help as well as the systems (there are a ton of them).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to be a little more transparent with the branches. It seems like new management is making this a priority.

    Pros

The best thing about this company is the cappuccino machine in the break room.

    Cons

    1. Everyone on pins and needles about who's gonna get fired next. Office moral is horrible.
    2. You supposedly get "3 weeks vacation but your boss won't let you actually take your vacation time and Hellmann policy is that your vacation can't carry over to the next year.
    3. You better speak Spanish at the Miami office or be an outsider.
    4. Most of the high salaried, long time employees were laid off and the new president is rolling out a "New-Junior no experience necessary we will train you!" Positions to take their place. Budget cuts.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hiring cheap inexperienced employees will not increase revenues.

    Pros

New President doesn't have a clue what is going on. However, he was brought in to fired all the old management (including former COO) so he can bring in his own team of managers from his past life at UTI worldwide logistics.

    Cons

Honestly, too many to list. Moral is very bad. Every other day someone either is laid off, fired for no good reason, or quits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

All of your good employees are looking for jobs elsewhere. Outside recruiters are having a field day with Hellmann employees because the reputation is so bad. I've been called at work a few times myself by recruiters. All employees phone number is published in the Hellmann global directory online. We are spread so thin we are losing customers left and right no wonder Hellmann has not made budget in years!

    Pros

Only pro is your last day - you will get your integrity back.

    Cons

No help - no one returns phone calls - you are basically an island. They loss more business than they gain. Weekly calls were always about business that was lost due to poor service, no follow through and no one cares - not my job. I see them closing US offices soon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of CEO - close up shop.

I have been working at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible with time off and needing time for Doctor appointments, but as well they should with as much work is piled on our heads

    Cons

The pay is here is probably the lowest in the industry. People keep leaving and they are not being replaced. More and more work is being dumped on the employees and it is expected to be completed in the same amount of time. Internal company expectations are put above that of servicing the customer. You are expected to be a freight forwarder, an accountant, a supply chain manager, an administrative clerk....the stress level is over the roof and things continue to get worse. The operating systems dont work efficiently and IT is a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper level managment does not have a clue as to what to it takes to move a shipment and really only care about profits above the customer. HELLO!!!! You wont have any profits if you no longer have any customers!!!!

I worked at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very nice Miami/Doral office, people generally very nice though clickish, some very hard workers, good work/life balance---people seem get in late but also work very late

    Cons

Top management unapproachable, out of touch, and genuinely do not care about employees. There is no strategic plan at Hellmann or at least it is not communicated down. Minimal training. Seems like there is no accountability, if things do not work out, top management blames middle management who blames lower management. Moral at this company is very low (especially in the field) as of summer 2014.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your people, talk with your people, and take ownership of your mistakes.

    Pros

Great office environment, benefits and events.

    Cons

Low pay.Training contradictions between associate lead, supervisory and management personnel produced unsatisfactory work performance of no fault of the employee due to misinformed expectations of procedures.
Corrections were all made via individual emails to remember, no training manual to follow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more relational with all employees, show no favoritism, be more available open door to employees.

    Pros

Friendly team for the Miami Branch with very good management. People will help each other especially in the warehouse.

    Cons

Upper Management (meaning HQ) seems to be unaware of daily work needed to be done by the different branches in the US.

    Pros

There is little left here on the pro side. The departure of long time employees and the oppressive atmosphere say it all.

    Cons

Intimidation has taken over as a motivational tool. It motivates people to look for work elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There are a few people in middle and upper management who need to treat people better or be shown the door.
