I worked at Help at Home full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Able to work days for the most part.

    Cons

Every day there were new "rules" depending on who you spoke to. Upper management and supervisors all lie both to your face and behind your back. Very unprofessional and unethical! Constantly told that your work is horrible. Poor morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to grow up and open your eyes and see what lies are being told under your nose. Need to treat all sides of the company equally and not "favor" certain sides. Need to get rid of your district manager for your Schererville office seeing that most problems stem from her.

I have been working at Help at Home full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The best reasons to me from working there were that I enjoy helping people and the pay was awesome. Besides that the wonderful advice from older people really helped me alot.

    Cons

The main challenge was putting the client in the bathtub and getting them out. The next challenge was changing them when they went on themselves. Other than that everything was great!!!!

I have been working at Help at Home part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The best thing is the flexibility of the company as far as the hours.

    Cons

Been here for ten years and they always lie and say they don't have clients. They give you the clients nobody wants or very few hours. Show favoritism. The Branch manager seem uneducated and talks like an idiot, supervisors have bad attitudes.

    Cons

some times a client might no longer may need your services, and to get a new one will take some time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

they need to have a back up plan in those cases when an actual cient decides that our services are not need it any more, for us not to loosed hours, and pay.

I have been working at Help at Home full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Decent pay, Some opportunity for growth and advancement within the company, Healthy, enjoyable work environment. Interesting and rewarding work. Since Help At Home has 17 offices in Indiana, as well as many others in a number of other states, there is also opportunity for transferring to other offices.

    Cons

Some frustrations with communications from management - It's a large company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open to suggestions for improving business operations from all staff - there should be an avenue for positive communications with senior management, not just for complaints. I would love to see Help At Home begin an Annual Branch Review. This would be a chance for senior management to have a better feel for what is really going on in the branches. When only one person has that communication, you may be getting a distorted view of what is or isn't going on. Hopefully it could be a positive thing, not intended for venting or complaining.

I worked at Help at Home full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The money is good, and if you want to work a straight 8 to 5, Monday through Friday shift, with no overtime, weekends, or holidays, there are few opportunities for that in nursing, and this is one of them.

    Cons

The company does not care at all for its employees or its clients. It is a money-making machine and you will be a cog in it, or you will be expendable. No support from management. They really are not interested in what you can contribute, beyond using your license to make a buck.
