    Pros

    Pay is reasonable too. Hours are good. Convenient commute from Brampton (QEW & 403). Multicultural staff and casual atmospher.

    Cons

    Benefits are just average but not really worse then most places I worked in.

    Advice to Management

    Hold more in-house training sessions

    Pros

    Had a great Diwali celebration last week along with the monthly Lunch&Learn. Good food and everyone in good spirits. Looking forward to Christmas party which is actually in January. The job is great, but the team spirit in the celebration makes it feel like a family.

    Cons

    Just had to deal with a cold client. That's a part of the job.

    Advice to Management

    Turn up the thermostat, it's cold in my area!

    Pros

    Latest cloud technology. Development managers are extremely up to date on technology and makes sure that we adopt the latest methodology. They create the framework and teaches us how to adopt the techniques.

    Cons

    Busy release schedule - not always time to catch your breath

    Advice to Management

    Hire more technically superb individuals like the ones we already have.

    I worked at HelpSTAR full-time

    Pros

    Learned a lot about the product, upgraded my technical skills. Friendly folk and good hours. All my hardware requests good approved. That about sums it up.

    Cons

    Outdoor parking - not pleasant getting into a cold car in the winter. Some 'unambitious' employees allowed to hang around too long.

    Advice to Management

    Recognize productive individuals and get rid of dead weight.

    Pros

    Great on-boarding process. I guess it depends on your mentor ultimately, but mine was great. Realistic goals with close monitoring and feedback helped me transition from a college grad to a polished professional.

    Cons

    Busy environment. Your seniors don't always respond immediately.

    Advice to Management

    More parties!

    I have been working at HelpSTAR full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    My team mates are friendly and supportive. We celebrate other team members birthday. Social "lunch and learns" are held on regular basis. Clients seem to be loving the new release. Life is good. LG.

    Cons

    Occasionaly have to be flexible with work hours to accommodate a client in a different time zone, but that is pretty rare.

    Advice to Management

    come up with more social activities

    Pros

    Salary was good, benefits pretty standard. The product was interesting and I learned something new every day. Generally a fun place to work, and I was kept pretty busy.

    Cons

    One of the elevator was out of service for a few months. Nothing major.

    Advice to Management

    Have more formal training process with specific goals and feedback.

    Pros

    The people I work with are technically very competent. They exceed expectations on a daily basis and challenge each other (me included) to troubleshoot and quicker and provide quality resolutions.

    Cons

    When I first got here I was not provided a very structured training program, but "learned by doing" more than a formal situation. Now that I know my way around, it's not an issue.

    Advice to Management

    Provide a formal, structured training program with set goals and expectations.

    Pros

    Dependable and flexible management style. Good benefits. Latest technology and learning tools. Company paid courses. Fair salary. Friendly and supportive coworkers.

    Cons

    some politics, but pretty minor compared to other places I’ve worked at.

    Advice to Management

    Allow servicing lapsed clients. Take personal interest in lower level employees.

    I have been working at HelpSTAR full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Approachable management - open door policy. I can discuss anything - suggestions are listened to and many times implemented. I feel empowered. Personnel manager is flexible in accommodating my occasional special requests. I enjoy hanging out with team members who have become my friends.

    Cons

    Not a downtown environment, but then again you don't have to commute downtown.

    Advice to Management

    Pay for gym membership at the gym across the street.
