    Pros

The company has a very generous employee discount, they take the time to educate you on precious metals, stones and diamonds and the industry is always changing so the work day is forever interesting.

    Cons

little room for work-life balance, TO rules have too much room for interpretation and can be stressful on sales associates

    Pros

Company truly cares about its employees and my coworkers were great.

    Cons

It's retail, so of course hours and weekends and holidays are going to be a challenge if you're expecting to work M-F 8-5 then this is not a good fit.

    Pros

    - Loved my coworkers, product, and training. The people really made this job enjoyable. I loved that the product was not as commercialized like their competitors.

    Cons

The pay and commission were horrible. We were a smaller store, so we barely made any commission. The work life balance was also not good.

I worked at Helzberg Diamonds full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, great coworkers and an organization that truly cares about the quality of it's product, not just making a quick buck like many of their competitors. The discount was great when I was there, but I hear that has changed since I left. Lots of training and incentive programs for employees. Many opportunities to become certified and improve your knowledge in multiple areas of their merchandise.

    Cons

Raises didn't happen often, even if you stepped into a key holder role. it was just more responsibility for the same pay. Holiday hours were rough as well, but that is the nature of working in retail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciation is the key. The store I worked in was great at showing each other appreciation. Be aware of everyone's hard work and give them raises to show your appreciation.

    Pros

Higher base pay then competitor beautiful decor health care 100%preventative is coverered.

    Cons

Commission is a starting on.5 max on 3% almost impossible to reach speaking from a elite that has great history of sales success

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the common denominater!!! in a " souther region" when half a dozen previously successful tenured managers and freshly recruited talent quit all in a few months time maybe you should look into why!

    Pros

Employee discount, basic health insurance plans, dental plans, eye care plans, Warren Buffet company, (Burkshire Hathaway.), training seminars.

    Cons

"Ethics", promotions, overall quality of merchandise, dealing with sexual harassment/harassment in general, commission and pay structure, hours, scheduling, nepotism

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote people who have been with the company, not friends of the district managers/regional managers (who have never worked in jewelry), treat employees better, don't take sexual/racist comments lightly and tell female/white/black employees to "not complain to the ethics hotline."

I have been working at Helzberg Diamonds

    Pros

Nothing very stressful, not labor intensive, clean environment

    Cons

The company doesn't treat their employees terrible, but they don't treat them well either. You aren't paid very well, maybe managers are paid okay, but sales associates aren't so much. There is not a big discount. The company values and culture is not what it used to be, it is just a run of the mill chain jewelry store these days. The quality is not super, making it hard to sell it ethically.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

For a company with Berkshire Hathaway bragging rights, they really should have quality, reliable computers but they don't. Plus, the new stores are designed so that you have to turn your back to the customer at the same time trying to input their name, address, etc into the computer...BAD DESIGN! Flyers and coupons aren't user friendly for clientelling through the mail...they should ask advice from the people doing the job, the people in the stores, the sales associates!
