    Pros

Fun people. Good work environment. Casual and laid back but most people get the job done.

    Cons

Some people skate by and take advantage of the company. That is not the fault of the company.

I have been working at Henkel full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits. The people are solid. Good brands. Been with the company over 10 years and the company is always downsizing to make the number

    Cons

Too many personnel cuts to the sales force has eroded our abilities. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Moral is very low with intense pressure to make a number every month. No long term strategies.

    Pros

Great people, good product mix to work with, opportunities to work overseas.

    Cons

Extremely lean organization with not enough bodies to get the work done. Poor performing company has lead to a lot of unnecessary stress and pressure. Negative environment with a clear lack of teamwork.

I have been working at Henkel as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Henkel Scottsdale is located in a great area, the employees are friendly, and the work is interesting! As a intern I felt welcomed and important.

    Cons

There is a clear hierarchy at Henkel that makes it more difficult to make progress on projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Perhaps allow employees more freedom to explore their ideas without always asking permission.

I have been working at Henkel full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Very good benefits and a solid reputation. They offer 401K matching, tuition reimbursement, flexible schedules and dependent care account matching.

    Cons

Corporate culture has declined in the last two years, leaving organization fragmented and very siloed. Workload has also increased as jobs have been eliminated, forcing employees to do more at a lesser quality than before. Morale is extremely low for those that have been there long enough to witness the change in culture.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider whether Vision and Values really match reality. Performance results are not only as a result of market conditions, but of employee's morale.

I worked at Henkel full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You get to work on iconic brands and with some very intelligent people. With a big global company, you have the opportunity to work abroad.

    Cons

Unfortunately, much of the strategy is centrally-derived from Dusseldorf. Even if you're working on a U.S. brand like Dial, you still have most of the decisions coming from overseas. Career advancement is based more on timing than on skilled work.
