    Pros

Pleasant atmosphere in corporate environment. Dress is professional. Great perks for the health conscious. Large corporation with many internal clients.

    Cons

Design work is very corporate. Not for the edgy designer.

I have been working at Henry Ford Health System full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Fast pace, constant change, and lots room to do interesting things if you thrive in chaos.
A great place for a self starter with outstanding political and social skills.

    Cons

Management tries very hard but, is in a constant state of chaos. They are undertrained and suffer from overwork and high stress. Most of this is due to their poor organizational and time management skills.
This unfortunately reflects back to employees as poor leadership, unprofessional behavior, indecisiveness, and very little capability to support their employees.
on the cost cutting. Don't expect a raise
If your not good at office politics don't come here, you will not survive!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start training your leadership in organization, communication, and people skills
Pick a management direction and see it through to completion.
It's your job to set a coherent strategy, provide those that work for you the tools and skills to accomplish it and,, lead.
And start training your management to be managers. I said it twice because it's important. They care but, get no mentorship or training from their senior leadership.

I worked at Henry Ford Health System full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Henry Ford Health System has a great culture of connection and teamwork. The benefits are comparable with surrounding health systems.

    Cons

This company seems to have "warm body" syndrome and sometimes people can end up in positions where their skills and demeanor aren't best suited for the company's success. Less than professional behavior is tolerated which can create a tense and dissatisfying environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I'd advise senior management to take a close look at turnover rates under the mid-management level to identify opportunities for improvement by way of retaining top talent.

I have been working at Henry Ford Health System full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

My co-workers are great, some of the best I have worked with. There is a heavy emphasis on training at HFHS. I truly like the fast paced world of a large hospital, there is never a dull minute at the hospital.

    Cons

The pay is subpar even compared to other hospitals in the area. There is a huge lack of upper management support. We are unable to find quality applicants for open positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better support for all employees in the department.
