    Pros

Great benefit offerings which are still competitive to the market, management focus's on employee development, and positive goal setting.

    Cons

Detroit city taxes, resources for initial training and on-boarding can be limited. Advancement is not always a clear path, encourage networking and developing relationships for mentorship.

I have been working at Henry Ford Health System full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Flex time, benefit and its a job. Good team. Could be better, they've taken out a lot of perks from when j remember. Not good at all

    Cons

No raises, cultural company has "it's not my job, I don't care- I hear that all the time, and it is sad. Company can be on top if the owner shows appreciate and gratitude towards the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leaders need to get train and be fully skilled professional. Some manager get thrown into the position because hey have been there for years- not a great idea.

I worked at Henry Ford Health System

    Pros

Great introduction to a not-for-profit institution

    Cons

Bureaucratic, slow to change, if you're not a clinician

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The non-clinical roles are just as important as the clinicians (doctors especially). Start giving incentives (growth, good challenges, better pay) to the younger generations to encourage them to stay

Company really cares about their employees, Good work/life balance, Learn a lot, work hard, not such great pay

I have been working at Henry Ford Health System full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Company really cares about all of their their employees. You will learn a lot in HR and work really hard. HR is segregated by various departments so experience can be limiting if you are not able to move around. Work/life balance is what has kept me, my experience has been great. I am glad I work for HFHS, my overall experience has been wonderful.

    Cons

Room for advancement: HR should be set up with multiple levels within a job so there is room to grow but it's not. Compensation is currently below market but increases are expected in 2015. Heard many complaints that HR is understaffed and positions are hard to fill.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clear area's of duties, correct staff to HR ratio, keep up work/life balances (heard BP's are not satisfied in this area), don't keep under performing managers, department seems to be more reactive than proactive. Promote how much HR does for employees and how much the company cares about their employees.

I have been working at Henry Ford Health System full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Co workers are easy people to work with very nice individuals, welcoming, like family almost. Will be able to network.

    Cons

Parking is not located within walking distance of hospital (unless its in the summer). You must take a shuttle which requires employees to come to work at least 30-45 minutes earlier than start time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more respectful to employees, do not ask questions about protocol or why something was done a certain way when it was done the right way, it confuses individuals, especially newer employees to be questioned about something when it was done correctly just because someone else is complaining about your rules and regulations.

I have been working at Henry Ford Health System (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good group of people to work with but not management.

    Cons

Dealing with difficult coworkers; doctors and management staff, no raises and employees have a heavy workload,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support your staff, how is it that good workers are not compensated for what all the work they do. Management makes it hard for someone to advance within the the company; especially if they don't like you. Management is unfair.
