Pros
Benefits were reasonable, low stress(which in this business may not be a good thing).
Cons
Nepotism throughout. Impossible to know who was or was not related to the boss.
Made their name on coins, now sell a wide range of things which they dont seem to know much about. I would never hire them to sell anything.
Advice to Senior Management
Stick with what you know.
Pros
Relatively easy work and makes for a good job right out of school. Nice offices, location and most of the employees are very friendly and fun to work with. Occasionally you'd get to see some cool antiques, historical items and memorabilia.
Cons
Should be renamed Nepotism Auction Galleries. Family members are placed in positions that they're not qualified for and paid significantly more than ordinary employees.
Senior management doesn't really respect employees or their abilities to take their position or work to the next level. They think people are parts to a machine that can be easily replaced. They like to talk about how everyone from top to bottom is part of a team and wants them to be a team player, but when its time to reciprocate "Its just business" and cant help you out.
Advice to Senior Management
Be fair to all employees. Salaries should match experience, abilities and be competitive in the market.
