    Pros

Work/life balance is very good. Depending on your Manager, you might have a good experience or not. I've been very fortunate.

    Cons

Lack of communication and technology (employee computers and copy machines) are less than desirable.

    Advice to Management

Prioritize what matters most to our customers, even if it affects the bottom line as happy customers are worth more in the long run for repeat business and word of mouth. Don't make rash decisions and waste money frivously on initiatives that are just ridiculous.

    Pros

Good experience, good people, interesting projects

    Cons

leadership had no direction at time, but new CEO will likely be better

    Advice to Management

Sometime status quo is good idea

    Pros

Hertz was pretty good at promoting from within and elevating their biggest asset, their employees, into higher positions with more responsibility and benefit. The company was progressive in their approach to stay ahead of the competition and be innovative in their space.

    Cons

There is no clear cut, outlined, training and it is a very hands on, learn while you go job. While this can have it's benefits, it also has drawbacks that can ultimately lead to increased turnover. Work life balance is very tough during peak periods.

    Advice to Management

Better focus on training will lead to an improvement in turnover among new hires and positively impact the over turnover for employees within their first year on the job.

    Pros

You gain a lot of corporate experience working for Hertz.
It can also be a fun place to work.
There's always a challenge that needs resolution.

    Cons

Not too sure the company as a whole has a clear path on its future.
Management doesn't always help with career growth.

    Advice to Management

More direction needs to be given within different departments. Allow employees to move around the company and not get stuck within certain departments. If you do your job well, it can help and hurt you as management doesn't want to lose you and build a new team.

    Pros

I really enjoy working here. I started as a temp and then was later hired to a full time employee. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Enjoy the complex and you meet someone new everyday.

    Cons

When I started there was no training and basically had to figure things out myself, which was a waste of time. Need better training for new hires in their field. Also, the company is moving from Park Ridge to Southwest Florida so if you want to move to warmer weather this would be an excellent opportunity to apply for open positions.

    Pros

This was a really great team to work with. Strong support from management. Opinions and insights are valued by management from day 1. Potential to work on some really interesting operational projects.

    Cons

It is hard to change some process and strategies which need improvement due to wider office politics and inertia. With Dollar/Thrifty integration and HQ move to Naples company culture may change.
