    Advice to Management

    Pros

Family/Friend Discount, Possible Bonus, Learning Cars, Connections, Great Pay for a recet Grad

    Cons

Understaffed, Money-Hungry, Lots of Overtime or No Overtime (there is no happy median), No Work-Life Balance, Fake Management

    Advice to Management

Realize MTs, Branch Managers, & ABMs are NOT 4 people in one. Don't expect to layoff thousands of people and think sales and survey scores aren't going to show it. Check up on your people when they do terrible AND.. AND .. AND do well. Everyone in Hertz knows you don't want a call from the higher ups because it means you did bad and they'll never call you otherwise.

    Advice to Management

Stop adding middle management fat, trim and add to the front line.....where the revenue is earned!

    Pros

Company car, great benefits & pension. Treated very well initially.

    Cons

Unrealistic goals. Never enough cars. Could barely cover 1/2 your reservations on a continual basis. Very upset customers. Upper Mgmt never seemed to be available when reservations couldn't be met. Expected to work open to close 6 days a week. Hertz doesn't appreciate loyalty.

    Advice to Management

Mgmt needs to insist on work, life, balance plan. More support when no cars are available. Appreciate tenure & loyalty.

    Pros

Managers are given a lot of responsibility and you are forced to learn and experience a lot of the different aspects of running a business. If you can handle the pressure its good preparation to move on to a better, higher paying job.

    Cons

Employees are not valued. When concerns about raises, bonuses, benefits are brought up the general response is "you should be thankful you have a job"

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. They are your most valuable assets. Think about how you treat them and realize you are only lowering their morale when you repeatedly tell them they are replaceable

    Pros

You get to drive a company car

    Cons

Always short staff and unrealistic demands to grow revenue based on the amount of cars you are given.

    Advice to Management

Create a bonus system that is actually transparent and the employes know their goals prior to the period that the bonus is paying out.

    Pros

It takes about three months of training before they allow you to drive a company car. This includes coverage and gas. Health coverage is reasonable along with a 401k.

    Cons

Expect to work 50-60 hours since your on salary.
Expect to fill in for any employees that call in sick.
    Your pay increases about 20%
Short lunches, lots of multitasking, lots of customer complaints. It's a long day!

    Advice to Management

It seems like their cost saving strategies put managers in a tough situation. Having to explain to a customer on the weekly basis why they have to wait an hour gets old.
