    Pros

Hertz has a ton of room for advancement. It basically starts you at branch manager trainee, then manager assistant, assistant branch manger, then branch manager. It continues going up but it takes a while to get higher than a branch manager. The overtime was good til they stopped giving as much. It teaches you truly how to run a business. The benefits are pretty good

    Cons

The pay is not the greatest at $12/hour for everything we do. If your replacement numbers are not good they will fire you. There's A LOT of shady people that work within the company unfortunately. You will work 6 days a week.

At Hertz a company car is provided for most Managers which includes gas and insurance, also when on vacation can get gas for free from other Hertz locations on your route.

    Cons

Backwards corporation cant get their act together after acquiring Dollar and Thrifty auto group. Also salaries are very low for Managers.

    Advice to Management

Advice to Management would include simplifying systems after merge after acquisition of Dollar and Thrifty auto group. Also consider doing a salary surveys in related fields to pay employees accordingly.

    Pros

Beyond the company vehicle you sell your soul for, the remaining benefits are average for a large corporation.

    Cons

This is an ego centric company from the top down (The new CEO is not much better). Hertz purchaced a profitable company (DTAG) and instead of learning anything chose to push it's dishonorable financial practices and CEO/Executive worship even further.
Job cuts, Field Management incentive bonuses cut and some ambiguous bonus plan put in place that I think is based off the cycle of the tides.
Unrealistic expectations put on field management with little to no support from the Regional level up. ALL Field Managers (counter, car wash, maintenance, etc.) get it from all sides. Upset customers with long lines, overbooked and aging fleet. Upper Management with unrealistic expectations and no clue. Then tired and frustrated field employees who blame all management for the lack of support and direction.

    Advice to Management

STOP THIS DESTRUCTIVE CULTURE YOU HAVE CREATED! People are encouraged to throw each other under the bus for survival and it seems the best at it get promoted. Your $$$$ comes from the front line employees and Management NOT from the HQ and Regional offices. Learn what challenges the locations are facing. Constantly changing unobtainable goals and threats will not save this company.
Focus on your field employees who don't really care how great the new HQ is looking (really, a webcam on the intranet site so everyone can watch it get built!?!?) You all need to put your egos in check.
It is definitely obvious where your real focus and loyalty is.

    Pros

Great Coworkers, pretty easy job most of the time.

    Cons

No support from upper management, the cars we are renting are poorly maintained and for the most part of low quality. The current systems are outdated and allow for over booking of vehicles that are not present and most of the time unobtainable creating customer service issues. In addition to this you will work extremely long hours.

    Advice to Management

Update the old computer systems, refresh fleet of vehicles support the front line employees

    Pros

Can be good Money, As many hours as you can handle.

    Cons

People trying to steal your sales. No room for growth unless you have a BA. No concern for your well being, as in you are just another (Screw on the wheel) and can be replaced very quickly. Managers are never available. Lots of favoritism. Never have enough cars for you to upgrade so you can make payout (Monthly Commission) .

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing on sales so much that you forget what your company is about. Promote from within, even people that only have a High School Degree. There are lots of overly qualified employees that know operations better than people that come in from college. You hire College students that have no job experience and expect them to lead a company they have no clue about. The volume of customers at an airport location needs someone that has worked there way up in the company from the bottom that know exactly how to help with Operations.
