I worked at Hertz full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of young people. I enjoyed working as a team. Good place for an entry level person who wants to learn sales and operations.

    Cons

Management told all higher level employees that they need to right positive reviews on this site. Very reactive company. They follow what the competition does and the Off Airport market has been going downhill.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower your employees. Pay the monthly bonuses on time.

I worked at Hertz full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Company car, steady paycheck, and that's about it.

    Cons

No support from management, understaffed, required to work 55-60 hours a week to continue to be told by management that you are not doing a good job, continued to reach out to upper management for help and was told they were going to help but did not deliver on their promise. Overall, a poor experience with the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

meeting new people from around the world (networking)

    Cons

    To many hours
Depending on how busy your location is you do not get a break
No time for lunch in a rally busy location
Wash, Deliver, Clean inside of cars, serve customers, and handle complaints about sales

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do a better job with hiring people who care. The best people were treated the worst in most cases.

    Pros

Office culture and benefits are okay. Customer base is loyal , but eroding. Some core upper leadership still in place that could make a difference.

    Cons

Upper management detached from reality. High employee turnover.

I have been working at Hertz full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The pay is not the greatest but if you work hard enough you get bonuses and profit bonuses as well. When you're hitting on all cylinders it's nice getting a bonus every two weeks.

    Cons

Delay in bonus payouts can be very frustrating at time. You are expected to work 50 hours or so per week and sometimes more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be upfront with your employees and give realistic time-frame for promotions. I have seen many new employees get frustrated with the unrealistic times given.

    Pros

Geeting paid weekly, driving new cars

    Cons

Pushing "extra protection", vulgar remarks from customers, cleaning vehicles. For it to be a Management Training Program and the requirement to have a Bachelors, the pay was not consummate. 11 an hour.

I have been working at Hertz part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Job was easy. Great Discount on Cars. Bonuses help out as well.

    Cons

Hot and of course you are always outside. At this location you work with lazy people who have been with the company for more than 10 years, and feel as though they are superior to you. When they only make $14.00 an hr and are your equals. Training was horrible. Lack of communication within the departments. They were always mandating people to stay for 4 extra hours. This is due to planes being delayed, or the customer service reps not coming in on a day that to many hotwire, or expedia customers come in. This of course effects the customer service reps bonuses so the reps who make the most on bonuses don't come in on certain days, making others be mandated for 4 extra hours over the 8 hour shift you have already worked. If you work at hertz be prepared for this. Trust me this will happen to you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give employees a chance to grow. Such as promote internal. Which never happens, It is very hard to move up working as a CSR.
