Pros
Hewitt can be a very flexible place to work. Many people work remotely full or part time, and many have a flexible work week to promote work life balance. There are of course some roles that cannot support this flexibility such as Customer Service call center reps, but overall, it's a very flexible place to work. There is also plenty of room for growth and advancement. Learning opportunities include class room as well as computer based training, and open opportunities across the firm are posted online for people to review and apply for.
Cons
There is a high standard of work expected from people. And as many other companies are doing, Hewitt is also doing 'more with less', i.e. more work is asked of fewer people. The work load can be daunting. As a salaried person, expect a 45 hour work week minimum. Some rolse will require 50-60 hours. Of course if you cannot work those hours, you can adjust your role so that you are required to do less, but then of course your pay will reflect that.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue the open dialogue with associates. I think most of the changes within the firm have been transparent, and I would like that to continue.
Pros
It's very structured and for people beginning in the corporate world it's a good place to learn. They used to provide good training and they have very good tools that helps you complete your work.
Cons
They will work you to your limit and then add some more on Be prepared to work if you show any sign of competency.
Advice to Senior Management
Hewitt has gone from a privately owned company to a public owned company and has lost focus on it's employees. It's now about the bottom line and leaves behind some of their employees.
Pros
Good pay and benefits, good feedback, options for promotion. Hard work is rewarded and I enjoyed my time there with Hewitt.
Cons
Strict work schedules if you work on the phones, but once you have worked your way up it gets easier.
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to your lower employee's they are the ones that deal with the customers and can provide good feedback. Happy employee's do better work.

Pros
Good training, good reputation, good resume builder. All in all, the group I was hired with had a good culture that fit the organization.
Cons
Very meak middle management, high turnover. The middle management there was so poor just about everyone I worked with left after a couple years stating that as the main reason.
Advice to Senior Management
Clean up the middle management. The senior leadership is outstanding, it is unfortunate their proteges do not pay more attention to them and learn from them.

Off shore associates are way behind the ability of like positions stateside.
Advice to Senior Management
Look at your off shore associate stance and make changes to get better quality people in the door. Don't let the good employees leave after an implementation to go to a different place of employment.
Pay Raises-If someone is consistently getting high performance ratings and are at the bottom of the pay scale, do something about it, they will look elsewhere and leave.
