Pros
great management, fun work environment, room for raises, great hours, great vacations, great co-workers, great hours, great pay, and great bosses
Cons
A fast paced learning curve with new products can be stressful at time, sometimes I have to take work home and study over things on the weekends
Advice to Senior Management
Try to be more helpful when new features come out and be sure to answer all the questions in a detailed manner
Pros
very flexible work hours, very flexible with allowing employees to work from home
Cons
horrible transparency. misdirection by management teams. lack of communication by managers. making members of the same team rate one another breeds a toxic and uncomfortable work environment. low compensation - low salary, vacation, etc.
Advice to Senior Management
stop focusing so much on creating new processes with stupid names and making employees follow processes and instead, focus on getting work done!
Pros
Big company with lots of opportunities worldwide
Good benefit programs
Flexible work arrangements, including work from home
Generally good co-workers
Cons
Lots of internal turmoil, management churn
Lack of career growth
Best positions go to outsiders
Pay raises non-existent, salaries lag industry
Advice to Senior Management
Get back to basics and stop paying non-sensical $ for acquisitions
Pros
Decent pay for the level or lack of responsibility; management is not over-your-shoulder watching you; scheduling vacation is easy- because we fought to get it that way.
Cons
Nepotism first and foremost in the Camp Hill office. Also, it helps who you are married to or sleeping with to advance.
Advice to Senior Management
Please stop acting as though there is not an obvious, palpable disparity in the way you treat and pay your employees.
Pros
People are nice and want to help
Varying degree of skillsets in different department/org
Friendly environment
Flexibility of work
Cons
Low work life balance
Managers are not knowledgeable in the areas they are asked to support due to frequent reorgs
Compensation isnt competitive as other high tech industry
People are not rewarded or recognized for work performed
Constant reorg & confusion of work
Support or performing activities not aligned with what was agreed to during hiring process
Wearing multiple hats due to resource constraints
Advice to Senior Management
Hire more people to do the work & not assign more to those already over allocated.
Pros
* Large company with room to move into other roles
* Reasonably Flexible work environment
Cons
* Noncompetitive salary
* Staff highly disengaged.
* No salary rises
* Don't feel part of a team
Advice to Senior Management
* Cut out the micro management - bring HP back to a organisation of innovation
Pros
The people are good there.
Cons
Management is the problem because they don't want to invest in premium quality HW.
Pros
Flexibility. Great company with great core value. Very diversed, professional and friendly working enviroment.Lots of best-in class global talented people with good intentions and we treat each other with great mutual repesct and trust.
Cons
Very long working hours. It's extremely to hard to get promoted in US locations. Expected to work all time zones in this planet. Very confused performance evaluation and reward policy.
Advice to Senior Management
We willing to sacrifice a lot of personal time for HP. We want HP to win but supporting group (below manager level) like Finance is truely undervalued and under recognized by senior management.
Pros
Smart people to work with who care about their clients and teams. Domestic partner benefits, work from home, flexible on giving sick time.
Cons
Very bureaucratic, difficult to get promoted or change to a different business unit, poor communication from senior leadership and in 5 years of working there, my salary was cut 5% and then brought back to just above where I started.
Pros
Good Company to work for, however not more than 3 yrs
Cons
Slow career development, Poor Salaries
Advice to Senior Management
inorder to keep talent , pay based on market wages
