Pros
Benefits, good facility, good educated people.
Cons
Lack of growth opportunities, no appreciation of your hard work, no pay raises, bonus only if you keep your manager happy regardless.
Advice to Senior Management
be fair with all your direct reports, hiring managers needs to consult with other team members not only with immediate manager, bring your attitude down and put yourself in same shoe.
Pros
A big stable company. People are friendly and their real-state (depending on where you are) seems to be nice.
Cons
Management is way too complicated and resolve all its problem by outsourcing jobs and reducing cost instead of increasing revenue by innovation.
HP does not increase wages.
Advice to Senior Management
You have to put new young people in management which knows about current market needs.
Pros
Very broad product offering some are even best in class.
Cons
Upper management paid disportionately to regular white or blue collar employee, especially the C-suite.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop off-shoring support!
Pros
Telecommuting is commonly accepted. Good health care benefits. Probably still a good place to hire on from the outside. But do not expect to advance in your career.
Cons
HP used to be a wonderful place to work. People were valued. Priority now is on cutting costs, cutting benefits, cutting staff while increasing workload. No raises for 6 years now even for the top performers like myself.

Advice to Senior Management
Take care of your talented people. Get your company soul back and focus in innovation and quality. Reduce the bureaucracy created by the selfish upper management style
Pros
Good benefits, endless possibility for growth
Cons
Layoff scare is constant, , raises are infrequent
Advice to Senior Management

Pros
Most Flexible Place to work. I've passed up other "dream" jobs to stay here. The Internal audit department is bigger then entire consulting firm I used to work for... and more friendly and professional. Everyone really makes a great effort to promote knowledge and career advancement. It is openly discussed the expectation for employees to gain experience so that they can roll into other jobs within HP.
Cons
HP is a huge company and guidance can come in from all directions. I have a great manager so this isn't an issue. But for some it can become overwhelming very quickly
Pros
good benefits, great direct manager, challenging job, most co-workers are a pleasure to work with.
Cons
upper management does not care about employees, layoffs, outsourcing, and off-shoring work is hard on morale and is demotivating.
Advice to Senior Management
be honest. actually do something with the VOW surveys, quit buying so many companies and invest in the current employees.
Pros
Good learning experience. Matrix environment.
Cons
No compensation for good work. Employees all complain about being under-appreciated. Big company mentality.
Advice to Senior Management
Remember the little folks. They are the workhorse behind the company.
Pros
HP's great with flexibility and ability to work from home. To that end, HP also gets more hours out of their employees as we work from home and they save on overhead costs. Although we would all enjoy more competitive pay, the flexibility here is great.
Cons
Competitive pay for this area
Advice to Senior Management
Share the wealth.
