Pros
- When there is a requirement, salary is not a concern at all. These guys can pay anything to recruit people from outside.
- Time off rules are pretty flexible
- In case you get an influential manager, you have excellent visibility
Cons
- Too much depends on your manager
- There is no annual hike across the board
- The hike in the last 2-3 years has been in the range of 3-5% for top performers and nil for average performers
- HR dept in india is horrible - it is not for the employees
- There is huge huge gap in the salary of people in the same level. Unless you are in the top slab, you are bound to feel demotivated
- Onsite opportunities have reduced greatly
Advice to Senior Management
- Give an annual hike of atleast 7-9% avg for all employees yearly
- Resolve issues at Project manager or program manager level at the most. Dont involve India head for petty claim issues
- Make HR more employee friendly
- Retain existing employees by giving better salary rather than accepting attrition as a normal market behaviour.
- Develop more Pride among HP employees ablout the brand
- increase travel opportunities
Pros
Leftovers of the old HP culture and some old HP employees.
Cons
Horrible salary, compensation, politics, jokers for managers and everyone worried about meeting their numbers at the expense of stabbing each other. I dont know who will stick around once the economy picks up.
Advice to Senior Management
Please roll over and die.
