    Pros

People are very positive and work together well, never had an issue with support.

    Cons

Deloitte & Touche consultants are making changes... i.e., no work experience consultants determining how the in structure should look.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stand up to consultants! ;-)

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, with good organization culture practice still intact to motivate employees sense of involvement of the good historical success of the company.

    Cons

Challenges of constant changes with the development and strategy changes in consideration of the market drivers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep employees up-to-date with the development, of the high-level business strategy. In recent years, the operational employees left out of the strategic directions of the company.

I have been working at Hewlett-Packard

    Pros

The company has great benefits and many tools available to improve skills via online learning tools. Great place if you have an IT background, in terms of available internal job openings. Flexible work environment.

    Cons

The pay isn't the best and you have to perform the work of 5 people to see any pay increases. Work force reductions are always looming. You feel unappreciated! If you're non-IT, you aren't going far, meaning no computer science background.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard

    Pros

Good pay, flexible work environment. decent benefits, quality people in the trenches doing the work.

    Cons

Enterprise services has lost its way. Too little investment in product development. WAY TOO much internal competition killing sales opportunities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to walk the walk and not just talk the talk. HP cloud services are not even on the radar as far the consulting firms are concerned. Everyone talks it up, but HP is so far back I think it is too late. Need to be a leader not a follower. Not sure that the executives or major stockholders have the stomach to make that happen. Too much short term greed, but that is not an ailment of only HP.

    I worked at Hewlett-Packard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

There are a lot of great people still working for HP. I had the honor of working with some of the best technical minds in the business. If you can find a stable place within one of the two companies HP is splitting into, the caliber of people HP employs will make it worth sticking it out through all the uncertainty the company is currently in the midst of.

Good pay, good benefits and flexible work arrangements are other positives.

    Cons

Lack of stability. Right now, life inside HP is a bit chaotic and uncertain. Splitting into two companies, lots of off-shoring of jobs that were US-based, constantly evolving go-to-market strategies and relatively poor sales/marketing management are all concerns. Hopefully, this will settle down in the not-too-distant future. For now, however, HP is pretty unstable from a employee perspective.
