    Pros

From a career development perspective, HP is a great place to learn. You can master and understand different cultures, experience international business in many different areas and functions.

    Cons

Because of the size, strategic reaction to market pace and competitors can be slow at times but the split into two companies that will be performed in November will address most of these challenges.

    Advice to Management

There has been significant turnover in the senior executive space, both planned and unplanned. Stability is the key going forward plus hiring from within.

    Pros

Access to endless amounts of lab hardware, software licenses, and technical knowledge. You really can learn as much as you like here. Or, if you want to hide out and do no work (if that is your thing) you can do that here as well. As long as management has a positive perception of your work. Easy to shine as HP hires to the middle. The best people often leave for better opportunities.

    Cons

The HP external raise program. e.g. get hired somewhere else if you want a raise. Bureaucracy. And lazy coworkers. A lot of people get hired and hide out here.

    Advice to Management

Stop firing all the good people or inducing them to quit or laying them off. Start paying for talent. Start being a market leader and innovator with HP Labs instead of exclusively buying companies.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    * Good place to change domains * Nice work location

    Cons

    * Frequent Changes in Org. Company split is seen as a bad omen by many * Bad politics in Bangalore site. Managers tend to favour those who are irritatingly aggressive and workaholics in the team * WFH is for namesake. You can't expect to take it for emergency purpose without being under Manager's radar, * HR is non-existent * Promotions are difficult to achieve.

    Advice to Management

    * Please take VOW scores and act on it. * Promote people who are deserving. Dont promote people to retain them in company as and when they put paper

    Pros

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Adequate pay. Good Benefits provide added value to total compensation. Employees are empowered to make decisions. Low level leadership tries hard to get the job done.

    Cons

Too much leadership turnover. The way they make their numbers is frequent work force reductions. Those that remain must fill the gap. Late to market with emerging technologies. Very poor pay increases and bonus compensation for top performers.

    Advice to Management

Do as you say, not as you do. Leadership by example. Don't try to fix something that ain't broke. Listen to what is being said and eliminate all the red tape. When you are doing more with less, don't lessen the pot even more.
