    Technical Service Representative IV

Technical Solutions Representative (Former Employee) Rio Rancho, NM

ProsHP is extremely laid back and great to work for. Managers are always there for you to help with anything you may need.

ConsNot a lot of room for personal growth for this position. They tell you it is easy to transfer to other places, but takes a lot longer than they make it seam. Team leads are some times difficult to get a direct answer to help you with the issue you are having.

    Constant Upheaveal

Inside Solutions Architect (Current Employee) Rio Rancho, NM

ProsGreat company training and training from partners.
Highly advanced with technical infrastructure, as it should be for a technical company.
    Good pay.

    ConsHorrible in team training.
Constant changes in structure and upper management.
    3 CEOs in 3 years.
Health care options in New Mexico were not great.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop changing company hierarchy so much. I normally really enjoy change but it was completely chaotic there.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Respected Company, Terrible Infrastructure and Bureaucracy

Inside Sales Representative (Current Employee) Rio Rancho, NM

ProsFlexible Work/Life Balance: Even with work-from-home ending, managers understand and respect your health, family and work/life balance. Time Off: Better than most starting vacation time & PTO.

Respected Company in Tech Industry: The founder of Silicon Valley. One of the greats! Brand recognition.

Supportive and Good Lower-Mid Level Management

ConsLack of Technological Infrastructure & endless Bureaucracy: antiquated systems, databases, processes and "tools" - all of which are disconnected, non-user friendly, complicated, non-automated, full of "red tape" and connected through manual processes. These complicated processes have resulted in countless payroll errors - that take months to correct, lack of individual accountability, poor customer service and experience, erroneous sales reporting, etc.

Job Security: Instability & Constant Turmoil in Go-to-Market Strategy - Divisions/Roles are merging, then splitting off again, then getting spun or slashed. The company has been restructuring for over a year and cutting jobs. In late Spring 2014, Meg announced even more layoffs.

Career Development Track: No official career development programs or career-pathing.

Advice to Senior ManagementWith Meg, the company is finally on a solid strategic plan to position the company for growth. HP needs employees to be more productive; and a comprehensive overhaul of the processes, tools and systems needs to priority #1. With that everything else will fall into place, and HP will once again be the great company textbook were written about.

Working at HP has been an interesting journey

Account Manager (Current Employee) Rio Rancho, NM

ProsThe people at HP make the job one that can be fun at times while also less stressful. When you have a team that is helpful it makes the job more manageable.

ConsThe training when i worked at HP wasn't the best. While having some managers try and micro manage is something that is very common when working here. As with most large companies you don't always feel as if your contributions are always recognized.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt would be nice if the amount that you're compensated is equivalent to the job that you're doing. It seems as if some people have been there for so long that they're able to just get by without having to do much.

    Pros and Cons

Inside Sales Representative (Current Employee) Rio Rancho, NM

ProsBetter Paying Job in the Albuquerque area with a lot of upside. People are great to work with. Large company, so there is opportunity to move up if you are willing to move.

ConsBecoming more and more micromanaged. It seems like there is always some new "thing" tied to your pay that holds you back.

Tech Giant with a lot of restructure every other year.

Inside Sales Representative (Former Employee) Rio Rancho, NM

ProsGreat team environment and great spiffs.

ConsLayoffs add to your volume of work, without additional pay, if you are lucky enough to keep your job.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on coaching your sales team instead of micromanaging for sales numbers.

Good Culture, Pay structure is bad

Inside Sales Representative (Current Employee) Rio Rancho, NM

ProsGreat people to work with, great team environment, and hire top people.

ConsPay structure is a magical formula and you have to track everything manually. It is extremely frustrating. Constantly switching the reps around in territories, work on deals for months and they are taken away from you. Very frustrating internally.
