    Pros

If you work for HP directly and not a subcontractor then you have:
    - good benefits
    - nice working environment (most positions get laptop and even company phones)
    - intelligent, smart colleagues
    - possibilities to attend trainings (not so much in the past few years)
    - depends on country and entry level one still can get a good salary, but it is getting harder with each ear to negotiate good levels
    and more

    Cons

Lack of coordination and understanding of the processes in the support organization from the higher management. in many situations decisions are made to cut costs without considering the effect this has on customers.

    Advice to Management

Get the strategy together and execute. Be consistent and DO NOT change every year what you changed last year.

    Pros

Good work-life balance, not too occupied with work, wellness initiatives.

    Cons

The salary is always the same almost, no matter if you get promoted or change position. Lots of inside game of the management with the employees. No motivation whatsoever.

    Advice to Management

Should watch closer what the team does, not only take final decisions. Should try to make people want to stay in the company not to leave as they do now...

    Pros

Flexible working time, not overly stressful (most of the time), good benefits (e.g. health insurance). High level of job security and integrity. Possibility to work from home (dependent on position and level) a few days per week after you make 6 months in the company. Good and positive professional culture. If you are not aspiring for exciting and rapid career growth but are just looking for a fine place to work then HP is a good choice.

    Cons

Average pay level compared to the city for most positions. Despite being promoted as a place where you can grow the ceiling limit is set very low. Most of the positions available are entry to intermediate level. Be prepared for a slightly boring job experience - after you make 6-9 months in the company you will know pretty much all there is to know for the job so what follows is daily routine.

Education and certification is tailored to your job position so do not expect to exceed or get trained beyond what is required by the company. Ongoing split, organisation optimization and cost cuts means you should not expect salary increase or dramatic bonuses for years to come - if you join the company make sure you are settled with the salary offered because that is what you will get for a while.

    Advice to Management

Currently motivation is focused on non-monetary methods and it is clear that some of the management messages are cliches from the MBA books... While this works most of the time it cannot keep in place the truly talented employees - because of that what is left behind after a few years of work are less talented ones or less ambitious ones. The company represents itself as a market leader but does not attract leading professionals anymore.
