Overall the job itself wasn't bad but not the most welcoming of work environments.

I have been working at HighPoint Solutions full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Salary was good and schedule was flexible. Company did offer a very healthy work environment offering fruits as snacks throughout the day.

    Cons

Office staff was not that friendly some was out right rude. I don't believe they are use to many outsiders in their space. Company does not have many career opportunities for consultants to move further with the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe have space for consultants it got pretty uncomfortable sitting in one room all day.

The professional services group of Project Managers, functional and technical consultants is focused on enabling clients with Salesforce.com, MDM, Workday, etc. Strong team with repeat business requests.

    Pros

Sales and account managers can earn BIG commissions.

    Cons

They are looking to sell the company. Everyone is focused on sales, and no one is focused on the client. There's no work-life balance--you have to work weekends, and they'll let you go ASAP if there's no project work. There's no career path here; they don't even offer annual reviews.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your employees fairly. Restructure your organization around client delivery, rather than sales. There's a reason why there are few repeat clients.

    Pros

    -Great people to work with

    Cons

-They let me go out of the blue not because of performance but because they had pipeline issues. No severance or notice.
    -False promises upon hiring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Learn to keep people, not use them and throw them out even if they're performing well.

    Pros

There are no Pros for this company!

    Cons

To all INDIVIDUALS thinking of joining Highpoint Solutions, DON"T DO IT! This is the shadiest company ever!! Once you hit the bench, they will let you go. Even if they "promise" to keep you on the bench. They are the most dysfunctional and shady company I have ever worked with. I disregarded all of the negative comments I read about this company on Glassdoor.com, which was the worst mistake I've ever made. I've even heard their recruiters tell a potential employee to "not put in a 2 week notice with her present company". Thankfully she didn't take the job!!

To all EMPLOYERS, I would steer clear from this consulting firm. They will grab anyone off of the street just to fill a position. Their leadership is poor and their knowledge is minimal. There are much better consulting firms out there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are the reason this is an AWEFUL company!! You are the shadiest and most unethical company I have ever worked for!

    Pros

Respect, fair pay, push you to achieve potential. Open ears for new ideas or opportunities. Freedom for those who work hard to drive their own path. Management works hard and sets terrific example. The company is growing quickly with a very solid, possibly elite, reputation in life sciences and health care consulting niche.

    Cons

Partially due to quick growth of the company, management of resources is weak. In a company of this size, leadership should not have as much difficulty understanding the skills that exist in their talent pool and applying the right resource to the right opportunity. This turns onus to individuals to network hard and market themselves within the company, an even greater challenge for those performing more staff augmentation type roles away from HQ.

While management has open ears for new ideas, implementation of those ideas/follow through, is a challenge, again due to resource management, and apparent growth of managerial silos. No champions of the right caliber emerge to ensure implementation because that management is spread quite thin/

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Implement resource management solution and find ways to market company needs more transparently; increase cross-communication between account execs or CRMs who know the resources we have and can help match them with the needs of other contracts.

    Pros

Highpoint is a consulting company where the projects that come through the door are as diverse as the people who work on them, so you do not have the same day to day activities. The company has continued to grow, and most promotions are from within, so there is many opportunities for advancement. There is a culture of skill growth, where many people are giving chances to break into the industry and new technologies and prove themselves.

    Cons

It is Consulting Company, and many people do not adjust well to consulting work and its demands, so there is a fair amount of negative opinions that result from that.
Growth has outpaced processes in many places, and while attempts are being made to rectify this, it still lags behind. It is consulting, so travel is fairly frequent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to balance growth with processes.
