    Pros

Excellent products and that is the only thing I can think of that is good about this company.

    Cons

Used to be a family oriented business who had compassion and respect for their employees until the new CEO was hired several years ago. The company has changed into a greedy and demanding environment. Compensation has decreaed along with benefits yet the work load skyrocketed.

    Advice to Management

The company along with the CEO and his friends must stop filling their pockets with huge salaries and bonuses. Also, be cognizant of the fact that HILL-ROM was recently sued by the federal government (Medicare) for millions of dollars and to never allow that to happen again!

I have been working at Hill-Rom (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and job security. Some company training. Gain experience in the medical supply industry. I do not see any other pros verses cons.

    Cons

No room for promotion. Favoritism from upper management. Legal form loop hole for discrimination. Upper management does not take employer suggestions into consideration.

    Advice to Management

Give credit where credit is due. Promote by seniority not by favoritism. Hire more employees so employees do not have to work so many hours.

    Pros

Great products, good quality control and they really take OSHA serious!! and Hill Rom seemed to genuinely care about patient care at least in my local office and they also very very meticulous about paperwork, and being on time to the customer..

    Cons

The absolute WORST paying company!! I worked for their competitor that is much smaller than Hill Rom and was paid over 45% more What I cannot understand it the mentality of hiring someone that is the face of the company ( the hospitals, nurses and caregivers see US) not the guys in the suits in corporate who make BIG BUCKS...........The service tech educates, trains, delivers, repairs and handles service calls as well and we do this 24 hours a day!!! it is a demanding career and personally rewarding ( BUT SURE NOT FINANCIALLY) Hill-Rom Holdings generated $188.7 million cash while it booked net income of $111.9 million. And they can only afford to pay 12.00 a hour? they should be ashamed to offer those poverty wages to good hearted hard working ADULTS that put Hill Rom on the map!! we are out there 24/7 never rest, there is always a Hill Rom truck somewhere enhancing patient outcomes. but they sure get cheated when it comes to pay day.

    Advice to Management

You are the LARGEST DME company in the WORLD.................there are hard working people that put their career first and get little reward. How can anyone live on the substandard wages.Even your SMALLER competitors pay much more. WAKE UP...........

    Cons

Lack of Leadership. Blame Game. No Sense of Seniority. Good olé Boy Club/High School BS. Revolving Door....blah blah blah PTO.

    Advice to Management

Get out from behind your laptop and actually manage human beings not your spreadsheets. Remove head from AVP sphincter ASAP.

International company with a small-town mentality.

    I worked at Hill-Rom full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent salary and benefits. Recently built a nice cafeteria. Made some very good friends while working there. Starting to invest money in new technology.

    Cons

Very hostile to change. Set in their ways but say they are "open-minded." Directors placate hourly workers at the expense of their supervisors and individual contributors. Big time "silo" mentality. Managers have ethical issues. Cronyism is rampant. Work force in a small town is biased against new hires. Office workers silently revolted after several layoffs. As a result many internal systems were not maintained and the new hires are in the words of those veteran workers, "Paying the price for our past sins." In short, the culture is very dysfunctional.

    Advice to Management

Jerk a knot in the tail of your directors and get them all on the same page. Instill into them the idea of servant leadership. Encourage them to find their intrapreneurs and leverage their energy. Eliminate the silo mentality and establish value stream product teams. Desperately need to retrofit archaic facilities.
