I have been working at Hilti USA
Pros – I work with great people. The organization has a strong culture and values orientation. There is plenty of opportunity for development if you are willing to be mobile.
Cons – An organization is only as good as the team members make it ... if you are committed to your job and do your best Hilti is a great place to work. If you are not interested in making a difference, don't work here.

Advice to Senior Management – High levels of attrition are a direct reflection of managment. It is important to ask why this is happening and anaylze how to improve the scenario

I have been working at Hilti USA
Pros – Great benefits: good vacation, personal days, great medical and dental. Good 401k, as well. I haven't seen other companies in the industry provide what hilti provides. Decent people.
Cons – Basically, it's a dead end job with crappy pay. No pay increases either.
Management isn't around, not that I need them around, but when they do show up they are counter-productive. They do not provide support nor do they develop their People. All talk and no action.
I've been with the company for a while and for a long time I gave them an honest chance but nothing changes except the faces. The results are always the same.
Advice to Senior Management – My advise is for management to go somewhere else. Too many of them lead by spreadsheets and have no idea what is going on in the trenches. Essentially this is a sales company but most of these managers wouldn't be able to sell a tool even if the price was $0. Incompetent and ineffective leadership must come to an end.

I worked at Hilti USA
Pros – The culture of the company is great and you really feel proud to be part of it. The pay is okay and there are opportunities to advance.
Cons – In order to get promoted into a position that pays a bit more you have to be extremely open to move anywhere in the world, and to move without hesitation within a few weeks or so.
Advice to Senior Management – There is not much to say about the management. Any supervisor I came in contact with conducted themselves very professionally and treated the employees fairly.

I have been working at Hilti USA
Pros – Great company! Best in the industry coming form experience!
The pay is also the equal to, or best in the industry
Private company!
Cons – SAP system is difficult to learn at the beginning, but I'm sure it will come over time, it has for everyone else!
Advice to Senior Management – Good Job, maybe try to give more SAP training in BTS in order for employees to become acclimated with the process!

I have been working at Hilti USA
Pros – Hilti has great products and commitment to innovation. Their products are the best in the industry. The overall talent in the organization is good especially in the technical disciplines.
Cons – Hilti has a very inflexible and short sided view of the world. Even thought they operate as a global company the leadership tends to be very closed minded towards new ideas and ways of conducting business. Clearly, the biggest struggle Hilti has in the development of leadership. They are not good at development of internal talent and are even worse at integrating talent from the outside. This is a company will loads of potential but is clearly lost on how to go from good to great.
Advice to Senior Management – The management at Hilti needs to develop a more customer focused approach to everything that they do. SAP is not designed to be a platform to develop a market or customer strategy. Also, the management needs to start to focus on developing leadership talent instead of ranking everyone without actions and programs for performance improvement. Anyone can rank and judge people a progressive organization will develop talent.

I have been working at Hilti USA
Pros – Great Products
Solid Innovation (product)
Although salary is lower than average the benefits are excellent despite the recent changes to the health plan
Cons – Poor leadership at the highest level
Puppet management - Senior managers look to the CEO to see if he agrees before expressing his view.
Senior management main concern is Senior management.
Advice to Senior Management – Have worked here over 15 years and have never seen the morale worse.
Time to make a change so that Hilti can move forward.
Unfortunately we are not sure that the people that can make change recognize the problem.

I have been working at Hilti USA
Pros – strong leadership and development in sales and products plus training and strong organizational culture strategy
Cons – the leadership is very tight on money as far as salary compensations and promotion strategy. More is asked for the same or less pay.
Advice to Senior Management – Truly promote and develop people that brings the best to the company and do not leverage/compare everyone as the same.

I have been working at Hilti USA
Pros – Good people, excellent training,
You have pride in the product you sell
Good benefits, including car, with gas and insurance, internet, laptop
Relocations possible everywhere
Cons – Hilti changes the rules in the middle of the game. Payplans change quarterly, with not much notice. Promotions are only reachable if management is 100% on your side and someone is willing to stick their neck out for you.
The field is extremely disconnected from corporate.
Micromanagement is no longer the exception to the rule - it is the rule.
Advice to Senior Management – Remember the early 2000's? People were happy, retention rate was good.
Also, SAP expectations are highly unreasonable, we are basically told to lie to keep off of a list. Where's that core value of integrity?

I have been working at Hilti USA
Pros – Company is hiring over paid talent with fancy resumes. They have little knowledge of the business so you are forced to teach them the business.
Cons – Great Products good people worth promoting.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't have such a self esteem problem. There is organic talent worthy of promotion. Stop wasting money on people with fancy resumes that never work out.
