    I worked at Hilton International

    Pros

Great benefits and people with great work ethics

    Cons

The hours were long and they didn't really appreciate staying

  2.

Great for starting out your career, but growth is difficult. Overall company culture is great, but properties vary.

I worked at Hilton International full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits, bonuses awarded by trimester, employee travel benefits. Work life balance really depends on your position. Some people in my department seemed to skirt by doing the bare minimum, while others worked well over their 40 hours per week.

    Cons

Office politics were always a factor.
Growth is stagnant - emphasis was placed on bringing in new people rather than rewarding those who had earned it
Department head was a dictator and definitely played favorites. PTO increases with your length of service, it takes a while before you get a decent amount.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your people are your most important assets. Treat them like they deserve to be treated.

Former Employee - Cook in Orlando, FL

I worked at Hilton International full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

As a cook, job satisfaction was good as you work with mostly skilled team members, here and there there is a dunce that just keeps on sucking air.
Get to work with a lot of team members from different backgrounds.
My salary only made ends meet once I had worked overtime.

    Cons

Hours are long and varied shift times. There were double standards and favouritism applied to some of the team members who just would not pull their own weight.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Career growth and holding onto loyal employees should be focused on. Some management and senior supervisors are prone to ignore there own duties and responsibilities, sometimes resulting in mistakes that should not have occurred.

I worked at Hilton International full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

People were nice. The lobby of the hotel was impressive. It was easy to get used to the pace of work.

    Cons

Direct managers for front line staff weren't experienced enough to deal with a lot of the issues that came up every day. Bad customers were able to take advantage of low level managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase transparency on overtime. All kinds of weird stuff happens with overtime.

    Pros

This is a wonderful hotel to work at. Everyone is very friendly, and the pay is fairly competitive.

    Cons

Despite what they say, the management rarely promotes from within. There is a lot of job-hopping between the Hilton hotels in Orlando, as well as competitors.
