I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Manageable workload, good benefits, and great opportunities for training and education.

    Cons

Have made visible strides to become more employee friendly. Not all the way there, but conscious effort being made.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great company, great people. Long standing hospitality vision

    Cons

from a digital marketing stand point, they are about 10 years behind. Very fragmented organization. Many departments do the same thing, which causes a lack of ownership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

consider being a bit more transparent with your overarching vision. That will help keep people excited and engaged

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for less than a year

    Pros

OnQ is a very good Property Management System and easy to use.

    Cons

Working for Hilton was the goal I had while I worked front desk at a low budget independent property for many years. The hospitality industry will most likely make you hate people. Hilton was sadly no better. Low pay (around $10 with experience) for a lot of headache and stress. Standing all day, being busy juggling phones and dealing with cranky travelers who often yell and complain is no way to live. I had to get out.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits and paid time off, upper management appears to care about how the employees. The company is always striving for higher customer satisfaction. The company continues to grow, especially internationally. It is very normal for the company to have "random pizza day" or some other type of specialized snacks (smoothies, ice cream, or craft popsicles). The company wants you to continually improve yourself with Personal Development Plans, but it is difficult to get time to pursue those plans.

    Cons

Lower level management doesn't appear to care if everyone is putting for the most effort, allowing many to do the minimum to get by. Too many people have been in the same entry level positions (10-20 yrs) and still burden other departments with inquiries they should know. Can be tough to move around in the company. Only a few departments are allowed to work from home full time or on a once a week basis. It takes FOREVER to get any type of system updates, sometimes 3-5 years and vital systems/programs seem to crash regularly and IT or the systems engineers don't know why.
Compensation is rather low when we can see the impact we have on revenue.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in systems and IT architecture! 3-5 years for updates is downright ridiculous. Implement a HR policy that keeps employees from sitting in one position for more than 5-7 years so they can become more rounded in the company. Create a leadership development process that can be applied to or employees can be invited to which would be mandatory for anyone in a supervisory role.

I worked at Hilton Worldwide part-time for less than a year

    Pros

This was for a at home reservation "specialist", in Dallas TX, there were really no pros, aside from the minuscule discount they give you, if you every have the chance to travel, which you have to go through red tape.

    Cons

The "I" in Hilton stands for integrity... But its funny because they literally want you to pay for a land line, equipment to do the work, with 7 weeks of mandatory training on 9 bucks an hour. IF they did have any integrity whatsoever they would know no one can live off of that and pay for your own equipment, and yet be forced to train for doing basic tasks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know what integrity really means , Hilton is making 359 million in net income, last year but decides to pay employees like its the 1970.

I have been working at Hilton Worldwide part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

This could be a great company to work for,

    Cons

So true what the other poster stated, you are micromanaged to death here, they will beat you down telling you every little wrong thing you do on a daily basis, rarely do you get praise for all the positives you do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show a little faith and trust in your employees, they are not idiots. No wonder there is such a huge turnover.
