    Pros

Legitimate work from home opportunity. You are allowed to build your own schedule within certain parameters. Excellent training program and free and reduced cost hotel stays. They even provide 401(k) benefits for part time employees. Good options for advancement.

    Cons

If you have equipment malfunction or power outage you need to run into the main call center to make your shift. I found few cons during my time there. This was a part time opportunity to help pay the bills while I was searching for full time employment in my field.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reservation Center is well run.

    Pros

Hilton is on the rise since coming out of private ownership by the Blackstone Group. The IPO has left the company seeing an infusion of capital into the owned assets with renovations in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Waikiki. Also the grip on the pursestrings have loosened up some as we are setting more progressive salaries as the company is finally learning that they can't be the premier hotel organization by being cheap with wages and benefits.

    Cons

The demands corporate has placed on the property leaders is enormous. Demands from pushing the culture, rolling out and testing various projects that consume our time. The most disturbing evolution has been the demands of the Office of Operational Excellence. These are efficiency people who come in with a dollar figure in cuts in their head and look for ways of achieving it. Armed with data they cut staffing and shifts and put in half baked tools to create efficiencies that are not tested but local management is held accountable. They ignore objections by management and commit to changes to Senior Leadership that , if not achieved, can cost you your job. Of course they are not there to deal with employee pushback, customer dissatisfaction and local management is left looking like tyrants.

Each day gets harder and harder for local leaders to focus on anything but achieving financial results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop the immersion that is more of a PR stunt and immerse yourselves in the real work of your management. Spend a week dealing with guests, staff and the time demands that corporate places on the local teams. Just because you did what we did 20 years ago, doesn't mean you understand what we do.

    Pros

Hilton is a great company to work for, with easy going, friendly people to work with. Benifit and perks are awesome.

    Cons

Most hotels are franchises, and sell without much notice to employees. New owners means new management, and sometimes a hotel becomes a Hilton by name only.... not owned or opperated by Hilton......

    Pros

The best part about working here its that the leaders listen to their employees, they take input from them and try to make their employees' job easier

    Cons

The training can lack a little.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I believe that only flaw in this company its the training if they train better the turnover would be lower.

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

    - Great PTO policy - 5 weeks right off the bat
    - Team Member rate is decent, able to get discounted hotel rooms during off peak season
    - Great team culture, there are often many team member events from pizza day, food truck day and movie screenings.

    Cons

    - Small teams which result in long hours
    - Very cliquey and gossipy environment - Certain Directors and VPs dominate all decisions/conversations and is more about who you know than the actual work.
    - Open seating environment. Directors and below all sit in an open seating, and no one wants to talk on the phone or talk to each other out loud because it is distracting to others and no one has any privacy.
-Working from home because of the open seating environment is frowned upon.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better review process for Sr Management and allow team members to work from home and create a flexible work schedule to accommodate for the terrible work space.
