    Pros

Premier commercial and multi-family real estate developer and manager in the U.S. and numerous other countries. Family-owned, but with a large public real estate investment arm. The owners and personnel are absolutely top-notch professionals across the board. Many challenging and rewarding career opportunities.

    Cons

The challenges and rewards mean that employees must contribute fully, within their job description areas. No slackers.

    Advice to Management

Provide increased employee recognition within the firm's regions and across the firm as a whole, for job performance and innovations.

    Pros

Wonderful people working on incredible projects.

    Cons

No career growth for Administrative Assistants, laughable raises, too much support for non company things like Director's vacations, kids and personal shopping and bills. Outrageous pay difference between Director and Assistant. No exit interview.

    Advice to Management

Involve Administrative Assistants more. Give them a chance to grow with the company.

    Pros

The benefits/vacation is great...more than most. Life/work balance is always considered, and company morale is excellent. Employees feel proud to work there.

    Cons

Politics, old managers won't change ways and need some mandatory schooling on managing their employees. They should encourage their employees and let them work in areas of interest rather than areas of non interest.

    Advice to Management

Provide mandatory schooling to senior level management on managing employees.

    Pros

Large corporation, can gain a lot of experience.

    Cons

Slow upward mobility if any at all for some. Seems to cater to male employees. Very large so it feels like you are lost in the shuffle when it comes to your needs as an employee.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the needs of your employees, focus on new ways to boost employee moral, especially during slow financial times.

    Pros

Smart employees, generally a teamwork environment, many opportunities to learn and work independently, high standard of accountability

    Cons

Often overworked staff. Upper management sometimes too disconnected to notice staff workload.

    Advice to Management

Find incentive programs that don't involve having to prove your worth. Inspire your staff and pay attention to what's on their plate.

    Pros

Firm is invested in training and keeping good employees. Exciting future and highly stable company. Fair opening salary.

    Cons

Opportunities for advancement may not readily exist in every market. Firm is moving through transition of baby-boomer leadership to next generation (could also be good). Salary growth is a bit slow.

    Advice to Management

Continue to set a high standard for all to achieve. Look for ways to engage current employees in business growth and be available to explore opportunities.
