Pros – A small value added provider of servers, storage, and software that is values its customers and tried to provide a new service offering in the consulting space. The job was exciting, never the same thing twice, and the sales guys were very knowledgeable and professional.
Cons – Very slow in the selling of the consulting practice. Many days were spent in-house without engagements to work on. The compensation model depended on your billable time, so meeting the on target earnings was very hard to accomplish.
Advice to Senior Management – Decide if you really want to be in the professional services space. Supporting the sales of products with consulting services is a great idea if the company is fully committed to it.

The engineers who work for Hipskind Technology Solutions Group are top notch. The engineers are who make this company any money and should be recognized more for what they do.
Cons – They look at the employee as a number, even in a small company.
No work and life balance and no regard for the well being of their employees.
Protect your human capital management and provide them the training and attention needed. They seem to find pleasure in watching someone fail right in front of the managers eyes. The manager may want people to be less successful than him/her self.
Advice to Senior Management – Have a trusting and encouraging manager who will bring the best out of your employees. Have a growth plan for new hires and provide a sence of acconplishment when goals are met. Have sales persons sell and hire someone who is strickly and compentant at being a full time manger of the sales team.
