Entrepreneurial

Vice President (Current Employee)
New York, NY

I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time for more than 5 years

ProsMid sixed major consultancy with ability to make your own business. Opportunity to learn all aspects of the business and make it your own. Regardless of your level, opportunity to grow & develop.

ConsBig enough to compete with the big consultancies but not big enough to invest in the next new trends. Trying to be all things instead of focusing on a few.

No Real Future

Senior Manager (Former Employee)

I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time for more than 3 years

ProsHitachi Consulting is becoming more competitive for large Oracle implementation

ConsHitachi Consulting continually pay less than market rates for employees and contractors so there is large turn over within the teams.

Advice to Senior ManagementThere is a very large amount of management overhead that needs to be evaluated and stream lined.

hitachi consulting india (hyderabad)

Manager (Former Employee)
Hyderābād (India)

I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time for more than a year

ProsBiggest congregation of dumb, sick top and middle management who have been working in the same company since last 10 to 20 years ,adding cost to the company and not adding value.Their inablity to add value is due to the fact that they lack vision, skills and have stagnated because of their long stay in the same company,as a matter of fact most of the serior management and middle management have started their career with the earstwhile sierr atlanta before it merged with Hitachi consulting.

Conshowever hard i try i have nothing positive to say about the company. They hire and fire people at will ,I discourage people from the tire 1,tire 2 IT companies to join this hitachi consulting as they will find themselves in Midst of chaos because the company lack processes, values and most importantly allergic to smart ideas and people.

Advice to Senior Managementwake up and get rid of the congregation of dummys in your top and middle management espicially in India.

A me-too consulting company with poor strategic direction and awful execution.

Senior Manager (Former Employee)
Atlanta, GA

I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time for more than 3 years

ProsIndividual contributors are the salvation of the company in spite of Hitachi's manglement (that's mangle and management combined).

ConsZero strategy or tactical approach to client growth and management. I can look around and see the same middle managers and vice president stuck in the same title for the last 10 years, mostly because they don't deserve promotion and they haven't been let go. Customer management and relationship building is largely non-existent.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind an identity and create a real culture. Bring the client into the equation by fostering through partnerships. Institute a mentoring program to properly expand new talent's horizons.

No direction. Making the same mistakes again and again.

Manager (Former Employee)
London, England (UK)

I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time for more than a year

ProsSome good technical people who really get stuck in during troublesome times.
Fairly flexible working conditions.

ConsNo overall direction. Project scope creep without change control on many projects. Internal systems (IT) appauling. No real interaction between company divisions unless necessary causing project transition issues and headaches for all involved. Questionable quality of some offshore resources.

Advice to Senior ManagementFind out what you want to be. You're nowhere near being an IBM or Accenture.
People close to burn out on difficult projects, so fix the repeat issues and make it better for new projects.

Dont join the company

Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
Pune (India)

I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time for more than a year

ProsNo pros since hitachi and sierra Atlantic merger happened. Pune office is looked as parking lot.

ConsLot of focus on unnecessary trainings and managers r looking fr ways to cut down ur variable component. No work life balance. Preference always given to Hyderabad employees. Pune ignored. Hr in Pune has no role. All decisions taken at hyderabad

Advice to Senior ManagementGet above regional bias and act professional

Great people to work with and an amazing collaborative culture that values its employees.

Senior Consultant II (Current Employee)
Portland, OR

I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time for more than 3 years

ProsGreat mentoring and development structure, and very clear career path and progression system. Also, the right balance of local and travel projects with focus on a work-life balance.

ConsThe salaries and benefits are not competitive with other employers in the same industry and region. Additionally, the staffing process is not very crisp.
