    Pros

Will get to know how smart you are when you get to work with dumb people

    Cons

Too many sick people in the top management who did not work anywhere else and have formed mutual admiration clubs by giving promotions to themselves ,couple of smart people in delivery like delivery heads but their voice is silenced as they have no one to hear them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of sickness as soon as possible

    Pros

You learn to dress up, send important looking reports (even if useless) every other day.

    Cons

Very stratified, they take 75% of bill rate and only pass 25% to consultants. They try to be like Accenture but on the cheap so for this 75% margin consultants get terrible benefits and a lot of beauracracy.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consultants are the ones making you the money. Your exploitation of them won't win you good will or last forever.

    Pros

Ideas and suggestions for process improvement are always welcome. Parent company (Hitachi Ltd) is committed to the growth of HCC through acquisitions that help round out our offerings. Local geo events help build community. Company puts an emphasis on local offices supporting charities. Work life balance is important. Benefits and company perks are great (discounts at client companies, nice offices, healthcare, time off, etc.)

    Cons

Review process could be clearer on how one is rated among peers.

Great place, great people unfortunately career growth is tied to what team you are on

    • Career Opportunities
Former Employee - Manager II  in  Houston, TX
Former Employee - Manager II in Houston, TX

    Pros

Small company feel with big company backing. Many opportunities to learn and you will receive full support of management to develop your skills. Provides many learning opportunities and reimbursement for training and certifications. Trust in managing your own time. Great place for college hires.

    Cons

Still stuck in the old consulting mentality of stacking and KPIs. Although they have tried to make some changes in the annual review process, your career growth is still tied to how well the team you are on performs. That means that you can be an outstanding performer, but if you are part of a small team or a team that does not generate much revenue, your career will stall once you are considered a "Manager".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you hear numerous complaints about specific consultants, perhaps it's time to think about getting rid of them. Don't wait for them to leave. Do not promote or bring on consultants at a higher level than they should be. This results in frustration from the other consultants as well as poor delivery with the customers.
