    Pros

Opportunity to work on a variety of projects in a variety of industries and technologies. Low power distance to management. Work with very talented people.

    Cons

Long term company strategy is unknown beyond growing to a billion dollar business. Why? What will that do for us? Company is very secretive about compensation - campus hires consistently being brought on at a higher starting salary than those campus hires from a year earlier. Campus hires being brought on at a higher salary than Senior Consultants I or II, which reflects market demand, but incredibly demoralizing. Moderate turnover at the Consultant and Senior Consultant level for this reason.

    Advice to Management

Although the company is transparent and the power distance is low in many regards, compensation and other benefit services are too secretive and taboo. Be the open, honest company we boast to be. Pay people just enough that they don't think about compensation and can stay focused on delivering excellence to the client and driving consistent revenue.

    Pros

Great management and colleagues - the best. Good culture and great oracle practice. If you want to get into management consulting, Hitachi is the best big firm in Seattle.

    Cons

Felt underpaid. They always talked about the carrot, but you don't get it until you're a VP. It's the same consulting work - project management for clients that could probably do it themselves.

    Pros

This company is everything you could want in a first job. I was debating between a few offers and took this because of the holistic exposure I would gain and the opportunity to learn. The culture here is unlike any and it's a dream job for a first job out of college. The leadership takes you under their wing and mentors you voluntarily. There are endless opportunities to shine. I will thrive here.

    Cons

    There are no cons.

I worked at Hitachi Consulting full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great People at the Client actually doing the hard work

    Cons

-Senior Leadership is Clueless on how to Sell Management Consulting -Company is more worried about getting paid than actually creating Sustainable Change for its clients -You are no more than your paycheck when push comes to shove; your actual skill and talent mean nothing

    Advice to Management

-Realize your people have value and start acting accordingly. You have a responsibility to your people as well as you pocketbooks. Stop putting the $$$ ahead of your people

I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is plenty of opportunity to be staffed in varying roles. M-Th travel is standard with some flexibility.

    Cons

The annual review process focuses too little on the quality/quantity of work delivered and too much on the local popularity contest.

    Advice to Management

While the culture of the company you are trying to establish is commendable, dont punish people that work very hard traveling for "not coming into the office for face time enough"

    Pros

    Nothing this company is awful.

    Cons

Leadership is absolutely stupid from senior manager to Vice President. OEM practice is Clueless no idea about training or change management. Senior experienced people don't go here. This is a great company if you just graduated college. I've been working for over 10 years and this was the worst experience in my professional career.

    Advice to Management

    Grow up!!!
