    I worked at Hitachi Consulting (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Most people I interacted with were all good people. Very strong benefits package, vacation time and salary.

    Cons

    Highly stressful place. Rather than replace internally focused people who left, they just transferred work onto others. Everyone I tried to talk to was stressed all the time. Toxic environment overall. Work doesn't need to be that way as I have found since I left!

    I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Varied clients, varied scope of work. Fair bit of freedom.

    Cons

    Way too much administrative overkill for PMs. Poor benefits package. Not much in the way of bonuses. Very poor communication - e.g. Organizational changes aren't announced

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Ease up on the admin/overhead requirements. Revisit bonus plans and improve vacation allowances.

    I have been working at Hitachi Consulting full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Untapped potential of Hitachi corporate in Japan, including the potential reach into many relevant industries.

    Cons

    There are many:
    - Significant lack of visionary management;
    - Strong focus on transactional sales and delivery;
    - Lack of SME depth;
    - Highly political and bureaucratic;
    - Poor teaming and little collaboration among and across the consulting service lines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I would not provide advice to current management. Instead, if able, I would replace most all of the senior U.S. executive staff with fresh, collaborative, innovative thinkers.
