Current Employee – been working at Hitachi Data Systems

Pros – Not high pressure sales, easy going, but yet things do get done. MOST are here to help you, but you have to be assertive.

Cons – Some people can easily hide. Thus lack of support from them. People prefer to avoid the deadbeats, and not hold them accountable. We fly people in, rather than use our local deadbeat.

You have to help yourself, data is not always easily accessible.

Advice to Senior Management – I like hands off management, but you need to set goals, and hold people accountable.
Also, you have to spend money, to make money. Stop watching sales expenses so closely.

Cons – Incompetent management. HR is very poor. Would be fourth string management in a real public company. No systems or information. EC likes to micromanage. It is a very sales driven culture which pays sales just to show up. Sales management are given business ownership but can only support paying their sales teams. IT is very poor and underinvested. CFO is very poor.

Advice to Senior Management – Leave. Invest in tools for the people. Stop micro managing and get a management view in place. Hold your own team accountable. Manage a company and not just sales.
