    Pros

You will work with some of the most dedicated people you can find. Good benefits.

    Cons

Management refuses to mentor and if necessary remove the people holding back forward progress. Very much "old boys club" mentality in athletics. Salary well under average. Very little concern for healthy work/life balance. No effort to retain good people. Very hesitant and resistant to work towards necessary change. Maintaining appearances is the #1 concern. Pushed to promote corporate alliance members rather than best choice.

    Advice to Management

Mandate ongoing leadership training for people promoted into position of power. Have a better job performance review taking coworker, staff, and athletes into account. Reevaluate salaries compared to other comparable institutions. Implement structures that promote and allow health work/life balance.

    Pros

The faculty and staff there are absolutely amazing. They are so supportive of one another and so easily approachable. There really truly is an atmosphere of mutual respect and teamwork.

    Cons

Sometimes it is very uncomfortable and difficult to approach the Principal. Sometimes she has an attitude that deters people from asking for help or guidance. I was afraid to give her suggestions, as she does not accept constructive criticism well.

    Advice to Management

I would say that the Principal should absolutely work on being more approachable. She is there to be a support to the staff; everyone should be working together as a team to improve the school and the students' education. It should be running as a well-oiled machine, not teachers who are afraid to speak up if they see an area of improvement.

    Pros

The student population is terrific to work with, and you cannot pick a more attractive location to work. Senior leadership has great ideas for moving the Colleges forward and working to make the student experience better.

    Cons

Sometimes there can be red tape/politics in Higher Ed that reduces efficiency and slows down potential improvements.

    Advice to Management

    Don't let politics impede progress.
