I have been working at Hold Brothers full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Small company where you you will see many different parts of the brokerage industry.

    Cons

Very hard place to work. Benefits are awful. The CEO shows up at 4:30 PM and then starts to call meetings starting at 5:30 PM for that day and the meeting always start late. CEO does this so he "can get his money's worth" out of his employees. Not a place to work if you have a family.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CEO should be respectful to employees. Start meeting within the normal work day so you can get home to your wife and kids

    I worked at Hold Brothers

    Pros

    - great benefits
    - great managers
    - you learn how to process settlements, outgoing and incoming buy-ins, cash transfers and how to process all stock orders
    - nice work environment (everyone is friendly and helpful)
    - great name on your resume

    Cons

can get kind of stressful, especially when you have a lot of institutional global clients assigned to you. You MUST make sure your work is error free. They don't tolerate errors. So make sure you you have a high degree of accuracy. Also, the hours can get very long, so be prepared for that.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow your operation analysts to move into trading if they express desire to do so. Just because they don't have trading experience, doesn't mean they are going to slack as traders.

    Pros

Good risk management team, in-house trade support, flexibility at work, international brand name, great colleagues, flexible compensation structure to suit a individual

    Cons

senior management does not really care for trader employees, they should send a performance feedback monthly which actually they do once a year.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

they should send a performance feedback monthly which actually they do once a year, provide more motivation to employees through cash prizes based on performance
