    Pros

Holiday World is a great place to work, especially for a first job, because of the fun atmosphere and friendly people. They also have good values and promote a balance between work and family.

    Cons

There are strict rules, especially uniform standards, which are good most of the time but can sometimes be too strict.

    Pros

They pay in American money, not much, but you will walk away with money.

    Cons

It's an undercover faith based organization. Which is fine and to be expected in Indiana. There is just a sense of segregation and you won't last long if you are "eclectic."

    Advice to Management

Think before you do. The head of HR sends rejection letters on Saturday mornings!!! My friend, who had applied for a position, got a "declination letter" bright and early on his day off. It's nice that they take the time to do this, but maybe during normal business hours?? No one wants a rejection notice greeting you on a Saturday morning. Oddly enough, that lack of thinking represents what it is to work there and how it is operated.

Only one sentence? Okay, I had a great time, it's a great place for your "first job" and summer job.

    Pros

Free Wi-Fi, guest parking, sunscreen, rides, and tubing. Great incentive program with Holipoints. I learned a lot..also great morals like the four corner awards.

    Cons

Long bus ride from Evansville IN to Santa Claus IN. Some co-workers were not as friendly but you have to learn to cope with that. Indiana weather was a little rough as well.

    Advice to Management

    I'm not sure right now.

    Pros

They hire young teenagers. The other employees were pretty nice.

    Cons

I had to ride the bus and it was very expensive. They want you to stay there for the whole day.

    Pros

It was a pretty fun experience all in all. It was just a high school summer job for me; a good one at that.

    Cons

Like I said, it was a high school summer job so obviously some of the work we had to do wasn't fun; but that's part of it.

    Pros

The job had some good benefits; season pass, free food, discounted merchandise, free tickets for family and friends, as well as employee parties where the workers got the whole amusement park to themselves. There was always a lot of people to interact with, obviously, and a lot of those people were from different parts of the country. It made the job interesting and fun!

    Cons

Staffing was one issue. When running one of the most respected, family owned amusement parks in the country, I understand hiring a lot of employees is a big key role. However, there were so many employees that you hardly ever got scheduled to work. I think the biggest thing I didn't like was that you had to smile, ALL THE TIME. There are certain instances when smiling isn't the best thing to do, and sometimes it's creepy to say the least.

    Advice to Management

I felt very welcome at Holiday World, no advice needed.

    Pros

The reason I love working at Holiday World (I've been there for 9 years!) is the rapport that has developed between my coworkers and myself. Not only do we have great times while on the clock, we are also provided many opportunities to come to the park after hours and hang out. Holiday World also works with your schedule to allow you time for your family, friends, school, and hobbies.

    Cons

You may eventually feel as if you have grown out of working here because the majority of the new employees hired every year are high school students.

It was fairly great for a first job. Coworkers typically had a "clique" but embraced outsiders.

    Pros

Great pay, free park membership, free soft drinks, discount on food/merchandise. Great work environment. People were friendly and air conditioning was nice

    Cons

It's not always convenient for people who live 45 minutes to an hour away. Some shifts are too short and it costs you money to drive from home.
