I worked at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari part-time

    Pros

It was a pretty fun experience all in all. It was just a high school summer job for me; a good one at that.

    Cons

Like I said, it was a high school summer job so obviously some of the work we had to do wasn't fun; but that's part of it.

I worked at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The job had some good benefits; season pass, free food, discounted merchandise, free tickets for family and friends, as well as employee parties where the workers got the whole amusement park to themselves. There was always a lot of people to interact with, obviously, and a lot of those people were from different parts of the country. It made the job interesting and fun!

    Cons

Staffing was one issue. When running one of the most respected, family owned amusement parks in the country, I understand hiring a lot of employees is a big key role. However, there were so many employees that you hardly ever got scheduled to work. I think the biggest thing I didn't like was that you had to smile, ALL THE TIME. There are certain instances when smiling isn't the best thing to do, and sometimes it's creepy to say the least.

    Pros

The reason I love working at Holiday World (I've been there for 9 years!) is the rapport that has developed between my coworkers and myself. Not only do we have great times while on the clock, we are also provided many opportunities to come to the park after hours and hang out. Holiday World also works with your schedule to allow you time for your family, friends, school, and hobbies.

    Cons

You may eventually feel as if you have grown out of working here because the majority of the new employees hired every year are high school students.

  5.

It was fairly great for a first job. Coworkers typically had a "clique" but embraced outsiders.

I worked at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Great pay, free park membership, free soft drinks, discount on food/merchandise. Great work environment. People were friendly and air conditioning was nice

    Cons

It's not always convenient for people who live 45 minutes to an hour away. Some shifts are too short and it costs you money to drive from home.

    Pros

Pros include free season pass, discounts on merchandise and food, and free tickets to bring friends.
While on the job, you really get the sense you're making people happier.

    Cons

Cons include having to stand at all times while on the job (not leaning on counters/walls), temperatures can get very high in outdoor jobs, and some guests can be very condescending.

    Pros

Great place for a seasonal job - they're very understanding of school and other seasonal variables. Great team interactions and free admission to the park for you and tickets for friends.

    Cons

Really HOT during the summer. If any part of your job is outside it gets old, and fast! Also you have to pick up ANY trash you see including leaves and cigarette butts which can be disgusting.
