    I worked at Holmen part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good compensation and working hours. I had very good fellow employees but guess that is just luck.

    Cons

    A feeling of negativism over the entire plant, no positive work culture.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on hiring and retaining new/young personnel with an incentive to achieve something.

    Pros

    the salary is rather good compared to what is generally paid for this job, colleagues and managers are very friendly, international environment

    Cons

    due to a very flat organization there are only little carreer chances, little acknowledgment for good performance, leadership is very poor and the same applies to HR, performance reviews are rather based on individual perception than achievements which can be measured (e.g. no key performance indicators)

    Advice to Management

    improve leadershipskills within the management team, introduce instruments which allow to measure the employee's performance, more transparence, improvements in HR qua availability and skills

    Het is een informele omgeving, ideaal voor parttimers met niet veel carrière-ambitie en die hun voldoening buiten de werkomgeving halen.

    Cons

    Matrixorganisatie. Niemand weet wie waarvoor verantwoordelijk en uiteindelijk is het altijd jouw fout. Gebrek aan leiderschap. Erg zwak HR (personeelsbeleid). Ze hebben zelfs geen KPI's (kritieke prestatie indicatoren).

    Matrix organization, nobody know who is responsible of what, and at the end it is always your fault. Lack of leadership. Very poor HR. They don't even have KPI.

    Advice to Management

    Verander de organisatiestructuur, moedig ondernemingsgeest en initiatief aan. Verduidelijk de bedrijfsdoelstellingen en vastgestelde KPI's (kritische prestatie indicatoren). DOE geen beloftes die je niet na kunt komen (carrière?) en lieg ook niet over kleine problemen, omdat dat alleen maar afbreuk doet aan je geloofwaardigheid.

    Change organization structure, prize entrepreneurship and initiative. Clarify company goals and set KPI. DO not make promise you cannot mantain (career?), nor lie about petty issues, as it only disrupt your credibility.
